You guys are hopeless. There's no way Gen Y will connect with that branding.

You need something that;

a) features our iconic club colours of red, white, black and yellow
b) captures the glory days of our away games in 2002-2003
c) highlights that we're looking forward
d) pilfers at least one thing from another code's marketing.

This is that sticker.

aussierules0k wrote:OK, I've thought long and hard about this. Conclusion.... get rid of the slogan. It stuffs everything up. The chances of the slogan actually meaning anything are 1 in a Flag. Come GF day most are just hollow words. I reckon we have the same sticker every year (for a while) with just the year number changing.

As in Amaroo's last pic... with out a slogan. SAINTS MEMBER is the winning part. If we advertise we are members, others will get on board. A silly "believe or burn" or "we will be the best in ??" doesn't look believable. Especially coming from a club with 1 flag. Let's just push the brand and not a momentary catch phrase. Looking back at our last few stickers, makes you wanna cringe.
Absolutely agree AOK...Id much rather the sticker say I'm a member than some fancy slogan tossed around for brand acceptance at a corporate breakfast  Slogans just leave you open for riducule when it goes wrong (Witness "Ride of your life" in 2001!!!)

But..if we REALLLY do have to have one..please please please NO references to Heaven, Hell, burning, angels, halos or any other quasi-religious witticisms..very single angle on that has been done to death

I want my membership card to say CONGRATS your the 40,000th member signed up.

I always purchase my memberships at the first NAB cup game so 40,000 members by then should put us in a good position.

Couldn't give a shyte what else its got on it

Why don't you design gurus send your ideas to Ben Hall, Membership Manager?

His contact details are; benh@saints.com.au

My experience tells me that you will get a response, and it will most probably be positive !!

keep in mind that I have only put about 5 minutes into these and if a professional put in 45 minutes we could have some very good designs, I especially like the idea of being able to choose what player you have on your memberhsip card and having a few different types of membership sticker...
i like the idea of this. we could have multiple players on as well. would be effective and look way better. i would pay an extra 5-10 bucks to choose the player (s) that i would want. oh and i like your stickers as well. their really nice. :).

Just have "fortius quo fidelius" as our slogan, and then "strength through loyalty" underneath.

Very few clubs (if any?) have a Latin motto, so we should make use of ours.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Agree.

Gimmicky corporate slogans appeals to the very height of the cynicism which runs deep in Gen Y.

Keep it real. Keep it simple.

St Kilda 2008. Strength Through Loyalty.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.
