OWTS.....I think that the King and Gardiner deal for Pick 90 trumps itOh When the Saints wrote:
If St Kilda get Schneider and Dempster for selection #26, then it is the greatest trade deal in the history of the St Kilda Football Club. Period.

Will be disappointed if the likes of C Gardiner and Dempster are in our best 22 ahead of R Clarke and Armitage, it would mean that 2 top 10 selections have been squandered.
If the club thinks they are better depth players for a team that has maybe a 4 year window for a flag then I am happy to beleive that but not as best 22 in a fully fit squad.

Maybe this year?

Actually, he did play on Embley in '06 ... played on Cousins in '05.
Got smashed by Embley in last year's GF ... unfortunately BigFooty is correct.
Has done some super jobs however.
You think BJ can kick ... wait until you see Dempster. Just as good.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Better line up than this years, extremly happy with trade week, hope that we can pick up another decent player in the Pre Season Draft...and maybe a young ruckman in the National Draft to fill King's boots....
In terms of line up in my opinion thats how it will stand...thats our best 22....To be honest I really had trouble doing that, we have a great amount of depth now all of a sudden which is great...well done RL, you are a legend

I think the next three years look quite promising at the club,
with the recent trade success I think we can only look forward to 2008.
My team for 2008 would be:
FB. Hughton S.Fisher S.Baker
HB. Goddard McGuire Gilbert
C. Montagna Hayes Gram
HF. Harvey Riewoldt Schnieder
FF. M.Gardiner Kositzke C.Gardiner
Inter. Milne Dempster X. Clarke
Armitage

The reason I am most excited about 2008 =
Lyon and Misson get a whole pre-season to themselves with the players...no interuptions, no delays.
Now that Lyon has his first year under his belt... LOOK OUT!

Pureoctain - your team looks good.
but what happens on the injury front will determine how we finish in 2008 - the 95%.
the rest (including the coach) amounts to 5%.
As Lyon said (during the season, following Riewoldts return from injury) he's a better coach with Riewoldt in the team and he will be an even better coach with a fully fit Luke Ball (if that's possible) etc...
so Misson might make the real difference with injury prevention - let's hope so.

One of the best long kicks ive ever seen. Could be used to take longer kickouts if needed.
How are his close skills (handballing, short passes, etc)?
up too scratch?
never thought dempster was a great kick
