you for got to mention we have 11 6 day breaks a 5 day break a 4 day break and a back to back round where we have to play collingwood after we have played geelong on the same day. Just a new way for the AFL to screw us!LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:Oh my god can't believe u haven't heard it's been all over the news.

On a slightly more serious note !!
We know that we have 11 HOME games at TD. Expect 5-6 of those to be either Fri or Sat Night. We could possibly have 3 away games there too.
We had 2 trips to Perth & 1 to Adelaide this yr. Expect that to be reversed.
We have been involved in the season opener for the past 3 yrs. Expect that again on the Thu Night before Easter.
Would be nice to have home games v Coll & Ess in the same yr. Hasn't hapened for many yrs.
Would love to have Rd's 1, 2, 21 & 22 at TD or MCG !!

The fixture is my pet hate...surely in this age of transparency with the exception of drug users, the fixture, the priority pick and anything else Andy D wants to keep to himself...with the Broadcast rights, not having too many games clash we can move on from the greatest misnomer in football, that Collingwood keep all the other Victorian clubs alive and start doing our fixtures based on ladder positions from the previous year, with clubs alternating between home games:
Top 8 play each other twice and teams in the bottom half once
Bottom 8 play each other twice and teams in the top half once
Still not entirely fair but a hell of a lot better than facade that we cop each year and a lot more transparent. These bullsh%t labelled rounds for Derbies, Heritage, Crossing Jordan, Cadbury's Favourites, Dreamtime etc are just smokescreens for Eddie and his fellow League of Faceless Men to have what suits them.

OK, I think I may have just let the fact that we're travelling to Subiaco to play Freo for the eleventh year in a row cloud my judgment there. As a stand alone game on Anzac day it would be good. Its a Friday this year, isn't it? I just hope we put in a better performance than our last three friday nights at subiaco.

Let me tell you, as much as the AFL appear to rue the aftermaths of the last x saints v freo games, they love the controversy.
Imagine if there was another game like those on ANZAC Day?
The media, supporters, even the AFL would have a field day.

i think from memory (not the best thing to rely on) when freo came into the comp the AFL said that every year they would get to play the eagles twice fitzroy twice and st kilda twice to try an develop a rivaly for them
well fitzroy is gone so i think they swaped them for port to try and play on the battle of the harbours thing
so i think we will always play Freo in perth just now we have our home game against them in melb insted of tassie

you're from Perth, and very biased....you WANT us to play twice a year in Perth just to see us live eh???st_Trav_ofWA wrote:i think from memory (not the best thing to rely on) when freo came into the comp the AFL said that every year they would get to play the eagles twice fitzroy twice and st kilda twice to try an develop a rivaly for them
