Sponsor a player in 2008 (indicate interest here)
Hi
I know this is early - but that's kinda why I am putting it up now. We had such problems organizing the player sponsorship this year... I loved it, and would love to be in it again next year... and I wondered/hoped if we could do it again next year. I would also like to see if we could really get our act together, and sponsor one of the established players... which costs more... or maybe 2 of the up-coming players.
I can't remember the person who came up with the most money - I know someone here did... but my memory problems mean I really have no idea.
I think it was really exciting, feeling connected to a player... I'd never seen Brookes play, (still haven't), but I felt much more conencted to the team. So, I was wondering if we can get this organized earlier this time. Last time, we were held back by the slowness of the money coming in, and lots of the players were gone before we had a chance to get in...
Cheers
Mark
Anyone up for it again?

would seem to be a good idea to start the discussion early
IT would probably be an advantage if people could put their 'donation' in early also: saves alot of stress as per ric and 2007,
and as differant to previous years the sponsors event was EARLY in the year. gives time to distribute.
then may be SS could go it alone;
from some enquiries I made some weeks ago they are looking to keep the prices simliar to last year- was $1,500
divide by 10 = $150
divide by 20= $ 75
divide by 30 = $50
divide by 40 = $37.50
divide by 50 = $30
divide by 100 - $15
ps what happened with the B& F tickets?

JT did a terrific job last year with organising it.
I reckon we should go for a fixed price this year.
i.e. $30 each (50 people total). That way you can find the set number of people you need, and there are no issues with some giving more than others, and trying to work out tickets etc.
Maybe anyone interested in sponsoring could post in this thread, and if there looks like being 50 names, then we go ahead.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

how many years in the system now?? 5 years for 10 games, and boy hasn't he been good in those games, whoa 3 goals against a lions side which was soooooo good, did they even have a defender on him? i mean a credible 1?
people like you curly are the reason this club is so culturally f***ed up..you believe we can tolerate having hacks like Brooks on our list, and he deserves to be retained after doing nothing for 5 years. 5 f.ing years.
he has shown no improvement in his time at the club and his trade value would be no more than a box of tissues.

Look's like we have about 35 so far. Need to find another 15 people for this to work.
I think $30 each as a flat price should be okay, divided amongst fifty people. It will be easier to operate than having everyone put in varying amounts.
If that's too much for anyone, then something might be worked out between two people.
