From Realfooty

Central Districts have won their sixth SANFL premiership in eight years with a comprehensive 65-point triumph over North Adelaide in the grand final.

Centrals won 16.11 (107) to North's 5.12 (42) before a crowd of 30,493 at AAMI Stadium.

Central veteran Chris Gowans won the Jack Oatey medal for best player on the ground.

Gowans became the first player in SANFL history to win the medal for the second time.

The victory capped a season of dominance for the Bulldogs, who lost only two games all season.

yep elevated from the rookie list I think.

they were stars for Werribee if I remember correctly, even as juniors.

I think they were too hard at the ball for Timmid Watsons liking.

Ferg Burger is actually a Victorian. Played at Sandy in the TAC cup and went to Wesley so he is hardly a dud SA player!

Big difference in standards between SAFL and AFL, don't you think?

After been a star for Central Districts for many years, I think ex-Saint Daniel Healy is now coaching them.

No. Daniel is not coaching Centrals. Centrals are coached by Roy Laird(local).

Interestingly enough, both Gowans have played in numerous consecutive Grand Finals.

8 with Centrals 2000-2007
1 with St Kilda(Reserves) 1999
1 with Werribee 1998
3 with Anglesea?

Is Daniel coaching? I thought he was coaching somewhere in the SANFL?

While yes AFL is far ahead, SANFL is still extremely good football, and many players could quite easily play AFL football, and if it weren't for clubs youth policy and draft system, alot proabably actually would be on an AFL list.
