Oh When the Saints wrote:I had heard something very different to this - that the club were confident he would play next year.

Not a "reliable" source, but one who has been right in the past.

It would surprise me, put it that way.
I have heard this rumour too.

I had heard froma Doc that the type of opeartion that gardiner has had normally has good chance of success.

I also understand that he had the same operation on his first foot some time ago...and that it is ok....

But yes we are all waiting to hear how his operaion on his second foot has gone.....

If Gardiner was stuffed then we already would have done a deal for Charman/Jolly/Hudson/Seaby for the first day of trade week.

Crap rumour.

Don't believe this 1 bit guys.....

They wouldn't announce it this early.....

He was still hobbling around at the Carlton game @ the dome.....i was walking behind him to my seat.....

There's no way in a few months that they could make a decision on his retirement.....

99.99% chance some1 is yanking our chain.....

Nah, he's a good bloke to spread info re Saints players, provided of course you don't work for Channel 7!

IMO Gardiner will just replace Hamill.....he'll be a chance to play for the Scorps nearly every week, pull out at the last minute because something is not quite right, play the odd game or two, pull up sore, and deliver at best 2 games in the seniors for us in 2008.

Please dig up this post in a year if he plays 20 games and shoot me down!!!!

Very optimistic point of view IMO Saintspremiers. Happy to be included in the shooting party if he finishes up with a regular spot in the line-up, but that's less likely than John Howard having Christmas lunch with Bob Brown.
