Terrible news - Chris Mainwaring passed away

a well-known former eagles player has died of a heart attack

it has not come out of yet as his family are overseas

its a very sad day fot the football community as a whole

go to bigfooty (i know it sounds awfully tacky)

alot of different posters alluded to it - and its not just one poster who has started a major thread either

he was a premiership wingman, and a true wingman at that

and i think in the eagles team of the decade...

the other thing is it could just be one of those internet wildfire rumours, will wait till the hun/r.Age/ABC etc announce it before we start writing epitaphs.

Confirmed on SEN.

"Police have confirmed a 41-year old male was taken to hospital just after midnight this morning and was pronounced dead from a heart attack."

It has been revealed that it was Chris Mainwaring.

Any references to cause of death beyond that of a heart attack are going to be removed as there has been no report to suggest otherwise in the "official media".

a true legend of the game was a great player for the mighty sharks but like a lot of ppl let his social life destroy his actual life

yeppers have to be careful but certainly hints and allegations will abound.

no one wants to see a player die but if there is truth to the allegations covering it up will just compound the problem.

What a bloody shock though. I feel for his family, not sure if he had kids but if so then they're the ones that we should all feel for.
