Travis Johnson Brock McLean
Both names were mentioned by Robbo on SEN as possibly being up for trade with St Kilda supposedly looking at Travis Johnson ...

We do have a thread at the top of the page for trade discussion.
I understand everyone wants their voice to be heard, and it makes it difficult to be consistent as a moderator.
From now on, all threads relating to specific players from other clubs will be locked.
No exceptions.
Please use the thread at the top of the page http://www.saintsational.com/forum/view ... &start=150
Cheers.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

I know what you're saying BelfastSaint.BelfastSaint wrote:OFFICIAL - trade rumours/wishlist thread
Is this the thread you are talking about.......The really important thread which has had 1 post since last Friday .......
It's just easier for those who read less frequently than many to visit one thread with all trade discussion.
Mods often get PM's asking for a reduced number of threads on the same topic.
The thread at the top of the page is 7 pages long ... I think there's been a bit of off-field activity that has prevented us from talking footy in the past week.
But in future ... I would ask that posts about trading go in that thread.

And I understand what you're saying OWTS ...and if I thought we should be trading for a certain player who I personally felt would benefit the Saints then I would post it in that thread...but Johnson and McLean were brought up in the media (SEN) with specific mention to St Kilda so I think that has more relevance than my own personal ravings...Oh When the Saints wrote:I know what you're saying BelfastSaint.BelfastSaint wrote:OFFICIAL - trade rumours/wishlist thread

Travis Johnson is a highly skilled footballer who can tear sides apart with precision skills if left alone.
He cann be a brilliant 'outside midfielder' - the link man for the 'in and under' player. He is not a noted 'defensive' type player and the only time he lays a tackle seems to be an 'accident'.
He is also almost totally useless when a good 'tagger' gets him.
If he were to come to us hw would enhance our team in that oppositions do not have lots of 'good taggers' and they would have to choose who to tag? Currently (2007) the decisoin by most oppositions was to tag Dal which lessened his effectiveness for us. If we had Johnstone we would have 2 similar types of players (distributors of the footy) and lessen the dependance on Dal getting the ball.
Brock McLean is a totally different kettle of fish.
Doesn't have Johnstone's silky skills but is an absolute 'hard nut' ball getter. A less skilled version of Luke Ball.
Either player would certainly enhance our team, but in different ways.

Would be happy with both, But would love Johnstone on the wing, again, another Fiora type where he has to be put in the right position
Number one draft pick in 1998 from memory/
McLean is tough and could help Luke Ball out, but if we could trade pick 9 for both of them i would jump at it, but highly unlikely

No chance they would trade both of them for pick n umber 9, I would trade pick number 9 for McLean definately, wouldn't give up much for johnstone though.Batnoe wrote:Would be happy with both, But would love Johnstone on the wing, again, another Fiora type where he has to be put in the right position

OWTS - You're doing a fantastic job of minding the content of this board, which is why I concentrate on porn ...removal.
On the trading stuff, I reckon if it's just someone's opinion (unless its a detailed analysis of our approach to trading - not just someone saying "yeh we shd trd pk 9 4 fev & myb jrd waite 2...discuss"), stick it in the other thread. However, if it's someone posting a story with some facts behind it, it deserves its own thread. Fair enough guidlelines to follow...?
I think that's what you were intending to do anyway, OWTS?
Oh being a moderator is no fun...you become a killjoy for the good things in life: free speech, cheap viagra, porn, homework

and again, he's drinking and picking fights all over europe. sounds a bit like a moron on holiday.OLB wrote:I would move heaven and earth to get Brock McLean at the Saints.
He had a woeful 2007 and was involved in a bit of fistycuffs over in Greece recently so Melbourne may even consider a trade.
Power, pace, graft. I'd be all over it.
his 07 has been ordinary or solid at best.

It's Brock McLean, not Slobodan Milosevic.
Boys will be boys.
