Not necessarily, but Milne has been drifted around a bit, I remember last year there was a lot of speculation J Johnson and Milne were going to be traded with one another.
I have never been a fan of Milne's play, although its exciting I believe it's selfish at times. And why do Hawthorn have to ask? If they were keen to get Goose then if it's anything like the NBA or NHL the Saints have the right to counter offer and say have Goose, but take Milne with him and give us Williams and Pick 2.....
I am not claiming that this would happen, but I am just suggesting there are other ways than just chasing Fev with our pick 9 to gain a forward etc...like has been mentioned on this forum numerous hundred times.

Dont understand why hawthorn would give us Lewis plus second round or Croad and Lewis for Goose. And why would we want Dawson.mad saint guy wrote:If he declared he wanted out, I would take these trades from Hawthorn
Maguire, 3rd rounder for Lewis, 2nd rounder
Maguire for Bateman, Bailey, 2nd rounder
Maguire for McGlynn, Dawson, 3rd rounder
Maguire, 1st rounder for Croad, Lewis, 1st rounder
Magure for Ladson, 1st rounder

1. if we got lewis, hawks first rounder and their second rounder for goose and our first rounder i would take itmad saint guy wrote:If he declared he wanted out, I would take these trades from Hawthorn

2. bateman is too hot and cold...and i have never seen bailey play so cannot comment
3. mcglynn - next, dawson - although obviously maligned and i do think he will come good...it might take too long
4. you seriously dont think they would give up croad, lewis and their first rounder for goose do you??? that sounds like something that a team would give up for someone like judd
5. ladson plus their first rounder is not enough...

that is worrying. i thought the boys had a pact that they wouldn't leave the club if they were given the chance. oh well. there are so many ifs and buts, i guess we wont know anything concrete until its officially announced.fisher_fan wrote:Peter Everitt did the same thing on the Footy Show before leaving us for the Hawks....thats what worries me

no thank you joel smith...you had your chance (to quote one rb)
mark williams would be a welcome addition however i believe his knee is shot beyond real repair so the hawks might look to farm him off ala jon hay and thompson
dont forget how they conducted themselves with those two players...
if i was in anyway involved with the club i would not look at trading with the hawks if i could..pelchen doesnt come across as a fair player...

Max Bailey, Beau Dowler and Beau Muston are all extremely talented players coming back from serious injuries in recent years. They're all about 20-21. If Goose leave (and I still don't believe he will), then we should take a look at those three before any of the mediocre fringe players in their mid-20s that are in Hawthorn's 22.

Roughead?
yep, we should play hard ball on this one. for a gun key position player we want a like-for-like swap or, i agree, see you at richmond.
it might be a nick stevens situation arising where we don't get much in return for a top player ... or a bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face ... but you have to have your pride.
and, if it's true, then st*ff you goose for tearing the heart out of the club

I rarely believe rumors like this and rarely pay them attention...but Goose is an interesting one for me
If we do lose him, we're losing a very important position but not a very special player
In my observation, he has real attitude problems and i really don't like his approach
Probably owing to his injury he relies on trying to get away with breaking the rules
At his peak in 2004 and 2005 he was really good - standing up taking great intercepting marks, reading the play and keeping up with his opponent...if we were talking about 2004 matt maguire we're on the verge of losing i'd be shattered
Since it's 2007, i'm not worried about losing Matt Maguire, i'm worried about losing our CHB...there is a difference
Goose is a player who needs to be in a winning or almost dominant team to be a good player...he is largely unaccountable and slack and needs to have the opposition's midfield under the hammer to play well
He is a symptom of success, not a cause
If we had or could get an adequate replacement at CHB for season 2008, i wouldn't mind much
he has some mental aspects of his game which need ironing out straight away
if he can iron them out, he's better than what we could get for him...but i have my doubts that he can
the only way he'll be playing well is if we're on top

Mark Williams' knee is stuffed and he may not play again.
Joel Smith is retiring and struggled this year anyway.
McGlynn, Lewis and Muston are midfielders we should look at from Hawthorn.
Bailey (ruckman) and Dowler (key forward) are possibilities.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.
a used toilet roll at that......Dan Warna wrote:OMG some of you would take a toilet roll and a 3rd round draft pick for our biggest and strongest defender we have on our list...
