Maguire to Hawthorn?
It's looking more and more likely from the whispers I hear, unfortunately. He had lunch with a senior Hawk today, who has been confident of getting him there for some time apparently.
What would we expect in return, realistically? They'd probably offer up something like Beau Dowler (potential FF) or Beau Muston (tough mid), though most here would expect more...
Disappointing if it eventuates, given it will be largely because of what we put on the table in terms of salary.

Also Hawthorn wont deal fairly (if true) they never do.
true re the deal they'll offer though.

who could we realistically get???
noone really stands out
realistically here...not in some fancy dream world that some posters believe
we arent going to get any of franklin, roughhead, hodge, cant get thorp cause he is into his second year...who else is there
what i would trade for is first rounder plus player....maybe sewell???
chb's don't exactly grow on trees

You cannot delist either and yes you are right the rule is only 3 years old. I think it is an excellent rule myself.vacuous space wrote:So you can delist them, but you can't trade them? That's stupid if it's true. And why are they bringing this rule in after we blow two good picks on Barry Brooks?plugger66 wrote:As I have previously we cannot get him next year. @ years for newly drafted players.

Williams + pick 2 for Milne & Goose
Opens up room for another player, gets rid of Milne's contract, gives us the extra forward we need to now cover Hamill and Gehrig.
Kosi isn't required as much in the forward line and then watch him and Gardiner rotate.
Pick 9 avalible for choosing a young ruckman, or a CHB (although I believe my man Sam Fisher could do a good job) and our 2 second round picks to either trade away for a Haselby (with even more room in our cap) or pick up some more young kids.
And then more good news, Carlton don't get pick 9, Fevola has to stay or go to Richmond (who probably aren't interested) so Carlton get a disgruntled Fev.....
All dreaming and hypotheticals, this Hawthorn official is probably his Dad's friend who he met in town for a coffee...but I can see how it add's fuel to the fire.
And another Q what pick was Bartel in the National Draft????

So get rid of player that was third in the goalkicking and also with G gone that is about 100 goals and why would Hawthorn take Milne. Have they asked for him.fisher_fan wrote:Williams + pick 2 for Milne & Goose
