Judd- are we any chance?
listening to his press conference...very impressive bloke...wants to go to a Vic club that will be successful.
With Fraser leaving, with a possible retirement of Hamill....could we make room in the TPP to accommodate him?
If he was to nominate the Saints as his club of choice, who would we trade? Might take a combo of pick 9 and Sam Fisher ( although I'd be gutted to make that trade).
Can't imagine either of the Clark brothers having much currency even if combined with the first DP....perhaps pick 9 and Sam Gilbert?
Thoughts? Are we even in the race?

Easy to be wise with the benefit of hindsight Con. If Hamill was still fit and tearing the other defences a new one, we would be thankful we still had him tied up. We took a punt, and lost. Move on.congorozides wrote:See. Now you see why have been so pi$$ed off about Hammil on this forum for he past 12 months.
If Hammil was on a 3 year contract like he should have been we could be going for hell for leather after Judd.
I doubt it, they can get plenty for him, particularly from a club like carlton. For eg. Fevola plus pick 3 and 20 (or whatever they're next one is)....no way we can match that.....saintm wrote:If they play too hard ball, however, don't they run the risk of him ending up in the PSD (see Port Adelaide and Nick Stevens) and they end up with nothing for him.saintlee wrote:No chance what so ever....we won't give up enough to meet what WCE would want

Well lok at it logically..
1/ Do we have much room in our salary cap?
No. (not unless we trade Ro or dal...BUT where is the sense in that!!!!)
Would Judd therefore be willing to play for say oly $400k?
I don't think so
2/ Do we have low draft picks to trade?
No. Our first pick is No. 9.
3/ Do we have good WA players that may want to go home (or who at least may find it attractive to)?
No
4/ Do other clubs have room in their salary cap to pay roundabaout the $0.8 to 1.1 million mark?
Yes there are
5/ Do those same clubs already havea low draft pick?
Yes they do.
6/ does any other club have some good WA players that WC may find attractive?
Yes. Essendon have Ryder, Gumbleton and Ryder to add to Pick No 6.
So all in all there are other clubs who with aLOT less pain than us can offera deal to WC that would be accepted. The Tiges, Blues or Demons would sil have to trade for another lowish pick.BUT we would have to trade for a VERY low pick.....or give away someone like Roo.

Forget Judd,
What do we need to give WCE to get Twigley? She'll be coming back to Melbourne anyway, who says she has to go to the same club as him?
Maybe either of teh 2 groups fighting for control of the Board could offer her a 'position'?
She could be the Board Member in charge of 'player relations'. Might assist in re-signing out of contract players?
