Where they played (Cora Lynn) is actually quite a largish ground.

These 2 sides have been the powerhouses over the past couple of seasons.

Good to see the regional leagues were able to get a full season done with all of the water restrictions.

Lilydale in the NEFU down here won the premiership in all 3 grades. All 3 grades went through the season undefeated.

St Kilda's 2 premiership captains are Tassie born. The Doc & Roo.

The highest score I've ever seen is;

Mackay AFL senior grade
Rd 13, 2007 .
(Saturday, 30th June, 2007)

North Mackay SAINTS 69.24.438
def
Moranbah Bulldogs 1.2.8

2007 Mackay AFL Grand Final (Saturday, 15th September)
North Mackay Saints 17.19-121
def
Whitsunday Sea Eagles 8.8-56

North Mackay Saints Under 12's (vs Sea Eagles), and Under 14's (vs Swans) won their Grand Finals.
Under 17's (vs Hawks) and Reserve grade (vs Hawks) finished Runners Up.

Well done to Nyora, thoroughly deserved flag as they have been excellent all year.
That was such a high scoring finals series. the second semi was massive also.

Mirboo North took out the title over Yinnar in my league (Yinnar being Brett Knowles old stomping ground).

Hmm...well I might go down to our local grand final here in Casey next Saturday where Aussie Jones will attempt to lead Narre Warren to back-to-back flags against Pakenham (assuming i read the prelim scores correctly).

Thanks to the wonders of Google, the highest known score in aussie rules history at senior level was scored by Campbells Creek in the Maryborough-Castlemaine District Football League in 1990. They kicked 100.34.634  to Primrose 3.0.18.

As far as big scores go though, it's somehow beaten out by the VFA 3rds from 1983.

Williamstown 15.9 44.17 76.20 110.27 (687)
Geelong West 1.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 (12)

Interesting that BOTH these clubs have folded.

Yeah frankie strikes me as the kind of ultra professional bloke who wouldnt let his fitness slip just because he is out of the AFL.
With his skill level he would carve it up in the bush.

My Old team Mirboo North went back to back premiers of the the mid gippsland comp (although my playing days ares along time ago now )
Last year they celebrated after getting on the sauce with a impromptu game of nude footy. I wonder if they topped that this year?

I played in that game!!!
Slotted 43.4 from a HFF and racked up 98 possessions! Got me 12 votes as the umps deemed it a performance worthy of 4 BOG's... needless to say i won the league B&F that year!
