I agree with you partially saintsRrising, BUT:
1. Someone said above that Dana bought a Carlton membership at a Visy fundraiser a few months ago ... she may have been in a position where that was the correct thing to do.
2. In becoming a board member, she is putting her professional reputation on the line to an extent ... whilst it is not her career, she doesn't want to be associated with a bad board or a failure.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

On 1. GEEZE... I said in my first post on this that people can have genuine reasons for having bought a membership at another club. Let me repeat for the umpteeth time... IT IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH ME.Oh When the Saints wrote:I agree with you partially saintsRrising, BUT:

.
What I am interested in is NOT that irrelevant issue....but the very RELEAVANT iss ue of WHT she wants to be on the Board IF it is the case that she is not actuallya saints supporter.

That is not a reason to go on the Board....Oh When the Saints wrote:

IF she is not passionate about the Saints as the FFS websites state she is......then why is she seeking to be on the Board??? What is her real reason.
If she is in fact a passionate Saints fan..then all well and good.

I was at a function at the Halosrecently and this topic came up in an anti Rod discussion with a former club exec or board member (not sure)- He said that Rod Butterss had barracked for Richmond, and only joined stkilda as a member for the first time in the year he joined the board with GT. Glen Casey barracked for Hawks and and only joined stkilda as a member for the first time in the year he joined the board, after the Hawks knocked him back when he approached them for a board position. Mark Kellett played 55 games for us but was never a member and only joined stkilda as a member for the first time in the year he joined the board. So none of the "footy subcommittee" as described in the SFF Pack even barracked for the Saints!!!!!!!!!!
Glen Casey was a Saints supporter but was doing sponsorship some work for the Hawks. I believe and I am pretty sure Rod Butterss has always been a Saints supporter.4theluvoftheclub wrote:I was at a function at the Halosrecently and this topic came up in an anti Rod discussion with a former club exec or board member (not sure)- He said that Rod Butterss had barracked for Richmond, and only joined stkilda as a member for the first time in the year he joined the board with GT. Personally I would have thought that their playing for saints may be more important.

What do you think...which Board did he go for and then serve many years on???4theluvoftheclub wrote:So is kellett a saints man, a doggies man or a sydney man?
AT also hada bit of experience with the Dogs....so does that make hima Dogs man??
All of this is just a distraction though.....we KNOW that AT, NB and MK are all Saints...
The question IS however is Dana a Saints lady or not???

Chook23, you're losing the battle here.chook23 wrote:Might be true MMMr Magic wrote:RB is gone!
Patrick Smith is defending him and his regime strongly, as I type this.
but in this instance a lot of points that smith is making is on the money.
Westaway comments re drugs grog etc ....the way it was done
was a disgrace.
The fact that it is Smith making these points will ensure that most who are posting on this topic run in the other direction. He has absolutely no credibility with them and so anything he says will be discounted.
Like so much of the discussion on here the last few days, any word from SFF is greeted with adulation and any mention of anything positive from RB's Board is met with derision.
As has been stated previously, the Board challenge, IMO, is a fait acompli.
Hopefully it will be a good thing for our Club.

Once she joins her professional reputation will be on the line ... volunteer or not.
Its a big commitment and I am sure she would not have taken her decision to join lightly.
I think you will find that she has worked with Ross Leven.
