Not good enough.
I hope that their press conference has some substance to it.
TIP to the alternate board.
PULL your finger out and actually put some solutions up if you expect to get the majority of votes.
Agree I want to hear some plans if only broad/general ones at this stage saying that I am interested and they do seem to have a good mix but will reserve my decision until I hear some plans.

Yes, we dont want to go from one extreme to the other.Otiman wrote:This is my concern with the new ticket, with "Footy First" the name of the game - how much focus will be put on revenue and long term sustained off field success.joffaboy wrote:I am interested in how the alternate ticket will raise our base revenue.
Anyway good to see the alternate group has finally broken cover.
Lets hope we dont just get motherhood statements.
Lance or James??

The group as oulined is not a high powered group.....cpable yes....but not MAJOR players...
Therefore to gain support they need to be very focussed on solutions.
At the moment the only thing I have heard is that they will spend more on the football department.....however we alreday know that the Club has committed to spend more on the football department this coming season and specifically on recruiting and the medical/training area.

err there are investment advisors and investment advisors...
Most are just glorified commission salesman....rather than people actually knowledgable and independent with proper investment advice.
Just look at the thousands of auastralians who have had there lives ruined by being recommended to put ALL their money into high risk products that paid larhe commission to the "investment Advisors".

No offence to Thommo and Burkey......but I think that you only really need one ex player ona Board (where they are on primarly due to that reason as opposed to someone that has MAJOR credibility ina business area) ...and that the other place would be better served with another high powered business person.
Having said that...the current Board can also be said to not have enough mix of skills and the mix of skill is perhaps more varied.
The Alternate Board does lack perhaps good connections to really BIG end of town (apart from Dana)...and hence access to those companies that spend really big $$$ on Sponsorship.

I am just trying to look at the pros and cons of the alternates....ausfatcat wrote:but when compared to the surrent board?
The current Board is by now means perfect.
I must also for purely selfish reasons admit feelinga bit let down that there are no really high profile people involved....ones of the calibre that would have supplied immediate extra grunt.
The new group will instead have to demonstrate imagination and a vision as to why they would be better than the incumbents are their CVs alone are ceratainly nota reason to vote them in. Their Cs are also not a resaon to not vote for them either.
I just "hope" that the election process will be more than a "popularity" contest.

THe policies would be kept close to the chest until a general meeting to elect either board.
Why lay out a detailed list of ideas just to have the current admin say we were just about to do that anyway.

I'm sorry, you've gone through all the trouble to find out what this actually says and it really is quite insignificant.

They surely would have to enunciate their ideas well before any vote ao that we , the voters, would have reason to support them/reject incumbents?
Otherwise what are you voting for?
Incumbents vs Unknowns

You really are a strange one. If Caro's prepared to write in an article that the board have been leaking information and you're not prepared to accept that on face value, I hardly see how me posting pointless anecdotes is going to convince you.
Why?All I ask is you to validate your statements.
Or should I say why do you care so much?
I'm happy for events to backup/discredit my opinions.

SR - Its not in their interest to show in detail what they will do to address this. That will come out later. This is all well and good....
I look forward to the link being put up to:
GET THE SOLUTIONS
The reason for this is that the current board can just copy them and say, 'oh yes, we have the same plan, or have that already covered'
The onus is just as much on the current board to show a clear vision forward, but all I see is they are floundering...
