sick of all the other posts so I thought it necessary to start a post where everyone can post all the rumours they have heard, or proposed trades they would like to see happen in a single thread...
I will start the ball rolling....

* Justin Sherman
* Cameron Wood
* Jonathan Griffin
* Robert Warnock

Throw in Marty MATTNER
I've always rated him, a hard at it, hard tackling, quick with a raking left foot. Would look good across our half back line. Free Gram into the midfield rotations.
Don't know what the Crows are thinking but would be worthwhile sniffing about, possibly a third or fourth round pick or for Brooks or whatever we could get for him (third round?).

With Riccuitto (however its spelled?) retiring I would think Mattner would be a required player at Crows.Lucky Saint wrote:Throw in Marty MATTNER

I think he was left out of today's game because they wanted an extra 'tall'.

Always thought he was quite inconsistent as a player Pwoit. Brilliant on his day, but more often than not is pretty inaccurate in front of goal or gets barely any of the ball. Wouldn't be a bad shout maybe for a 3rd-4th round pick?Pwoit wrote:Anyone thought of Leigh Harding - Kangaroos - Did his knee training before last round and hasnt played this year but was named as emergency this week.
He is a goal kicking FP/HFF and can get the ball.
Problem would be him overcoming his knee and he is 26 ?

I really like the sound of Damon White, however I think we should give Watta a go before we go elsewhere.
I would be disappointed if Watts didn't go crazy in the pre-season this year and do everything he could to get his fitness up to that required level, we already know he has the skill, just needs the fitness and he could become an important part of our starting 22!!

Mark Williams (Hawthorn).
The Franklin/Roughead combination is working well at the Hawks and Boyle/Dixon have stepped up this year in Williams's absence. They have a stack of goalkicking midfielders too (Hodge/Ladson/Crawford/Osborne/Lewis). So arguably Williams is surplus to requirements.
Williams would slot in nicely as the medium leading forward we so sorely need. Would be the perfect foil to the tall Watts/Koschitzke/Riewoldt forward line we look like taking into the next few years.
Williams missed this year with a knee injury, so is damaged goods.
Trade the Clarkes (23 and 24) for Williams (25) plus a second-rounder.

As much as I'd love to have Williams I don't think he'd be a required player with us, our forward line is still potent what we lack in comparison to Geelong, West Coast, Port Adelaide and so on is a goal kicking midfielder, I think it's a problem we really need to address, that could be done with someone like Gram playing through the midfield and filling his position with a fully fit Armitage/Clarke brother.
Goddard will be a big inclusion when he gets fit, I'd love to see him develop into a Buckley/Ricciuto type player.

I think we need:
Now: An established ruckman (we have Van Rheenan if we want to groom one), quick midfielders and a small forward to help out Milne.
Draft: Quick midfielders and a replacement for Max in the next few years. Gilbo will be good but don't know if he will fill out enough.
