Email from the club confirming
Saints re-sign Sam Fisher and Justin Koschitzke
As expected St Kilda Football Club has today announced the re-signings of Sam Fisher and Justin Koschitzke each for a further three years.
Sam Fisher had one more year to run on his current contract, which has now been extended for an additional two years. Justin Koschitzke will continue his career at the Saints for three more seasons, which will see both players at the Saints to 2010.
St Kilda Football Club CEO, Archie Fraser said, "On behalf of the St Kilda Football Club, I'm delighted to announce the re-signings of both Sam Fisher and Justin Koschitzke. This is a fantastic result for the Club and indicates the players' commitment to the Club, our members and supporters."
Fisher has gone from strength to strength this year and is in contention for selection for the 2007 Coca Cola All Australian Team. A strong-marking defender who wins plenty of the ball, the young South Australian is a vital unit of the St Kilda backline.
Koschitzke has had a solid 2007 season, with the versatile player displaying stand out performances against West Coast and Richmond in the second half of this season.

great news re Kosi
he has given up an open cheque book offer from Carlscum
the last ditch effort Friday (apparently ratified by the Carlton board in a phone around) was that he could name his own price!
this was after that Carlton were informed that kosi had put forward what he wanted from the saints and if they agreed he would sign
obviously we agreed
this is huge that he has signed with the Saints
i just hope that it wasnt for way too much BUT in my opinion Kosi is the difference between a final side and a premiership or 2

Terrific news. Both are vital cogs of our machine at both ends of the ground. Kosi is our one method of beating the flood... how many times have we seen him outmark 2-3 opposition defenders?
I think this shows that the players are all extremely committed to the club (and as with Roo & Dal) I'm sure Kosi & Chips are both resisting the lures of more money elsewhere.... I'm genuinely excited!

Carlscum back to their old tricks again. Buy up anybody they can? How soon before they breach their salary cap again?BackFromUSA wrote:great news re Kosi

Maybe it's time for some payback with them.
WHy not make a play for every one of their talented youngsters when they come up for contract renewal? I know we'll never get them but it would be pleasing to know we 'cost' Carlscum extra money to retain them - just like they have been doing to us over the years!
