Ken McGregor!
Most people are of the same attitude we need a ruckman, small forward,a couple of pacy midfielders and another big bodied backman.
Do you think Ken could fit the latter.195cm 26yrs old can play key defensive role and then go forward and kick a couple. Is on the outer at crows, is he worth a look and what would you give for him?

He's very underrated, and very versatile.peter lockwood wrote:Most people are of the same attitude we need a ruckman, small forward,a couple of pacy midfielders and another big bodied backman.

Being 26 is an issue though.

if he was a young up and coming player with potential to be better I'd be interested.
if he is a player thats ok, and been superceded in quality by his colleagues at his own club, like wtf do we want him for?
if he slipped down the pecking order its because.
1. he's not good enough
2. he's got problems such as motivation
3. he has the wrong attitude
4. injuries
5. their coach is a nong who can't recognise talent
unless its genuinely no.5 why would we want him?
I think we showed some courage going and getting a few kids, seems most haven't worked out, or put their hand up for more money (guerra and hackland for example)
but getting a player who we KNOW isn't good enough for his own team taht is struggling (lets face it he isn't tailings from the great brisbane side of 01 to 04 is he?) and as you say there are 6 or 7 players ahead of him...

He had a very good year in 05.peter lockwood wrote:Has slipped down the pecking order as regards to talls with Meeson,Griffin,Maric and Gill making the most of their opportunities.Think next year when they get Biglands & Hentschel back theres every chance he will know he,s up against it and will want to go eleswhere.
Then I believe has been carrying an ankle injury for a while.
it was that kind of thinking that got matty allen, doc clarke etc another run.rodgerfox wrote:

and getting gardiner to st kilda.
look I hope he tears a hole through the opposition next year, but I wouldn't hold my readth.

I personally don't rate him, he has played some very good games and very poor ones. He looks like the classic "confidence player" and not very consistent. I think Maverick has hit the nail on the head, the Crows are down on talls and obviously don't rate him. We have a lot of his height at our club who are all better than him. I think we need to be looking at midfielders beacuse that is where are most deficient in our depth.

I wouldn't trade for him.Dan Warna wrote:it was that kind of thinking that got matty allen, doc clarke etc another run.rodgerfox wrote:

I think he's underrated and a good player, but I'm not sure trading for 26yo's is the answer.
now if we scored him for a round 3 or round 4 pick and dished off say a player who is maybe 27th or 28th of value on our list and he came with a 100k or 150k contract it might be worth it.rodgerfox wrote:I wouldn't trade for him.Dan Warna wrote:it was that kind of thinking that got matty allen, doc clarke etc another run.rodgerfox wrote:

we won't be trading any of our early draft picks...the coaches want to bring in young players.......they are the future........hacks are just that...hacks..we have recruited enough over the hill hillbillies in the past...no more...and thank your flowering mother for the rabbits...............

McGregor is basically a CHF or CHB....is too slow for FB.
Now for CHF we have Roo, Kosi, Watts, Allen, ..even BJ
For CHB we have Goose, Sam, BJ, Gilbert , Allen
We don't have enough mids....and could go a quality ruck.....so why would we even consider MCgregor??????
