Blake is going to be our number 1 ruckman next season unless we do something, anything.
Ackland may be delisted by the Blues, and many of us were sad to see him go. Let's see if he can lead us to that premiership that we deserve!!!
M. Clarke retired too

Wouldn't he have had to nominate to be taken in either pre-season or national draft? If he's got 1st round talent (i.e. realised he was likely to be a 1st rounder this year... or even drafted at all), he would have had to be very badly advised to nominate for the pre-season draft, which would have resulted in a much smaller contract... especially given that as a KPP, he wouldn't be expected to hit his stride for 5 years.mad saint guy wrote:Yep. We could have taken him in the national or pre season draft, but was too young to rookie-list.Animal Enclosure wrote:Is Collier an U/18 MSG? Clarke was a short term replacement to fill a role left vacant when Ackland left. We gave up nothing, and got very little, and now his retirement addresses 1 of 3 required delistings (with the other 2 taken up by Gehrig and Thommo, and further de-listings are only necessary for rookie elevations, or if we seriosuly want to free up a list space).
No harm, no foul.

If you nominate for the national draft then you are in for the pre season draft as well. I'm not sure on the exact rules, but there is an age limit on the rookie draft. Maybe if you were a bottom age under 18 player, you can't be taken as a rookie.BAM! (shhhh) wrote:Wouldn't he have had to nominate to be taken in either pre-season or national draft? Anyway, considering that he was in the pre season draft he would have been able to nominate his own salary.
