Jones and Gwilt will stay, Lyons likes them.

I think Jones needs to be introduced to his right foot. Like Gram does with his left foot (shocker).
Wouldnt mind Jones be introduced to his left boot. Just avery ordinary footballer.
Does he not play like a park footballer?
When he gets the ball, he looks like he has forever to get rid of it. I think if he didn't rush his kicks, he wouldn't be too bad.

He came 2nd or 3rd in the WAFL B&F (whatever medal that is - morrish?), so he must have been doing something right last year. I don't know what.

What a load of rubbish .

Keeping B Voss because his brother is a powerful figure in the AFL and we wouldnt want to get him off side ?

I see better logic written on toilet walls than that drivel !!!!

And thats not me advocating delisting V2 . Its just me reading the logic on why we would keep him .

Go figure !!!!

no use in keeping Gwilt or Jones, just not good enough

Brooks must be on the chopping block

i didn't mind Ferguson's game, worth keeping

we don't have to do anything too drastic

I keep hearing that but Burkie is the only name I have heard. Would be great to have an ex player on the board but we wont some business knos on there too. Maybe even some one who can get the training facilities done and increase revenue, thats what I look for from a board.

Delistings

Raymond
Gwilt
Sweeney
Jones

And I don't want Seaby. Prefer Gardiner/Kosi/Brooks/Blake ruck division.

Let me get this right:

We already have 3 retirements in Gehrig, Thompson and M. Clarke, with the possibility of Voss joining them.

There are some posts on here that are calling for anything up to 5 or 6 others to be sacked/de-listed.

Given that a lot of very good judges have stated that this year will be no better than an average draft, What gems are we going to pick up with our 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Round draft picks?

Purely on statistics alone, we should be looking at making 4-5 changes to our list

How about a decent dose of reality folks? And leave it up to those who actually know !!

DELIST

Milne

It is so clear that the reason he has kept his spot is because R Lyon made the decision to keep him at the end of last year.....

....But when your wrong Ross, your wrong.....dont keep giving him a senior spot because of stubborness.

Id give the president an ultimatum - out of the social pages and get fair dinkum about the Club, or he;s out as well. He would have to be one of the most insipid President's going around AFL circles at the moment wouldnt he?
Off-load Kenny S as well. He was in charge of all tribunal matter this season and didnt do us any good at all. Get some strong authoritive figurehards down at the club.

setting up and scoring goals usually counts for a bit

he setup/caused/kicked 5 goals against the tigers

dud your fighting a losing battle...Milney is the scapegoat for some f-wits and even though he is erratic at times, they will never admit he is a positive contributor.

I doubt it'll happen - he's one of the four who played every game. His kicking technique bothers the hell out of me. How he used to be so accurate in front of goals I don't know. The way he plays now, he's never going to get anywhere close to 60 goals again. He's also not good with the ball and he can't tackle to save himself.

meher baba wrote:Jones: played another shocker yesterday. I would either leave him on the rookie list or cut him, but he seems to have fans among the coaching staff/selection panel so he'll probably be offered a long-term contract.

The other rookies: give them another year.
Jones is too old to stay on the rookie-list. Promote or delist.

And you can only keep three rookies. Jones can't be on the rookie-list and Geary looks very likely to be elevated, so another player has to be promoted or delisted.

A while ago Lyon stated that he rates Jones in our best 22. I don't know how he decides on whether a player is in the best 22 before they actually have an effective kick at AFL level, but I hope Lyon has been watching St Kilda PLAY as well as train. If so, there is no way that Jones will be retained.

We're probably only going to draft three players wit picks 9, 27 and 43. If there's somebody else we like, or we trade an earlier pick for a player, we could draft somebody at 59. We might elevate Attard and put him on the LTI (just so we don't have to next year). We might elevate Jones and Geary. At absolute most, that's seven delistings, and I expect that number to be closer to five.

M. Clarke
Ferguson
Gehrig
Raymond
Sweeney
Thompson
Voss

Raymond and Sweeney are both young enough to be put on the rookie list if we think they're worth keeping.

Out this season will be G, M clarke, Voss and Thommo retired. Delistings will be Raymond, Sweeney, Brooks and Ferg is in trouble. 7-8 out 2 promoted to main list. Not sure who they will be. One preseason pick and 4-5 draft picks.

do you actually watch the games

did you not see his possible match saving tackle in the centre of the ground on saturday and then the kick to fraser

his goal assists this year have been excellent

as I keep saying on this site "watch the game"
