Can't have much more time. I'd say they're gone. Too many turnovers.

12 grabs to Brooksy is a good effort.

We should have a look at recruiting Matthews. He is the best midfielder/player at Casey.

Just got back from the game. Got smashed in the centre and kicked poorly in front of goal again. Brooks and Voss were the best players.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

So Brooksy has now been named in the best 9 times out of his last 18 games.

Compared to:

Rix 1 out of 22 games
Clarke 1 out of 13 games, and
VR 0 out of 17 games.

Saints’ selectors should be ashamed.

Interesting to see Panozza in the best there, went to school with him, real natural talent, was very close to being drafted to richmond or north melbourne in the draft 2 yrs ago

I presume he looked good today?

Rix has been named in best 1 out of 5 VFL games.

In AFL Rix has not been named in best in any of his 17 games.

Brooks was named in best in 1 out of his last 3 AFL games  .

armo in the best???
sheesh!

Just got back from the game and was disapointed with a few. Clarke and voss where slow but voss did come into it in the second half when the pace went off the game.

Armo had a shocker of a first quarter, barely touched it and made silly errors when he didn't have it. Real attitude problem, does not seem to be fit enough. But has all the potential in the world. Came into it in the final quarter, got some hard ball and put on some tackles.

Needs to have a heart to heart with the coach. What does he want out of his football. Needs to improve his fitness 1000%, he does not make enough contests and does not seem to care at the moment. One of many who have to lift this pre-season.

Brooks was everywhere in the ruck. His kicking is excellent, good hands and reads the play well. Will never be the big tackling power guy but was the most skillful player out there today. when watts came off after copping a blow from rix, brooks was forced down forward.

Liked walls game, good timer of the spoil.

Rix was useless, dropped marks, struggled around the ground and all his hit outs went to the opposition. If you had no idea about the past histories and just watched todays game most people would select brooks over rix.

What are people's thoughts on Wall? He has become an excellent defender in the VFL and was also very effective at CHF, but clearly his frame is too lean to hold up at AFL level. Is it worth persisting with him, or is he one of those blokes that just can't put on muscle? (he's the same size as he was 3 years ago when he was drafted by Sydney).

He is a stick figure, no muscle even around the legs. Shame cause he has shown alot as a FB

Cheers.

If Geary and Howard can come along next year, then it will really help us.

Armo has been criticised for fading in and out of games all season ... he seems to have brilliant quarters or halves, but can't put it all together.

With a running pre-season he should improve next year.

Were any of the St Kilda coaches there?

If Wall has the closing speed of a Max Hudgton (few if any do) then we should definitely persist with him. If the majority of his spoils are body-on-body contact with VFL level forwards, and he can't put any more muscle on - get rid of him.

The days of Gorilla forwards are over, so the need for a muscle-bound full back is just about over too. If he can take someone on a lead, then our backline structure can take care of one-out situations with a floater.

He's about the same size as Justin Westhoff from Port so I can't see why he would be to skinny for AFL :?
