Certainly felt like it but didn't when reflecting on Maxie's effort several years ago. It got us no where just another reputation from other clubs.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Been following them since the sixties.

So have seen it all before.

Same old same old.

Character building.

I don't think I've cried after a game since the 2005 prelim... apart from that, I think i have to go back to 2000 then.... he 2005 prelim was tough because i was there and saw us give up a GF place....

Another battle weary saint here..well beyond the tears...spent those in 71/97 ...was actually extremely calm tonight and felt that we had blown it last weekanyway...when it comes down to wishing other sides win you have lost already...

Let it burn the guts of the players and motivate them even more next year

How many times have we heard it will burn in the guts of the players and they will get better?

After 91 Elim???
After 97 GF???
After 98 Finals?
After 99 Fade out?

I know different era above but...

After 2004 & 2005 Prelims???
After 2006 Elim?????

How often does it have to hurt this club???

No - a very vanilla finish. Got a little excited when Collingwood came back but I guess the lingering frustration of a week waiting for other results to unravel left enough uncertainty for me.

Unlike 04, 05 and 06, when I had a huge emotional investment in our season ending losses, tonight feels inevitable and appropriate for what's been a very unfulfilling year.

I'll be back for more next year. Same old same old.

Yep, pretty much sums it up, had abit of hope at 3 quarter time, but then was pretty unemotive as they let it slip, pretty disillusioned with footy as a whole this year, its like when youre at a party or something and you totally forget/dont really care about our game that's going on, just wasn't too focused on it this season... (admittedly influenced by our poor first 1/2)
