How would you rate our season A-F?
Personally, I'd give us an F, as failing to make the finals, when we let so may slip, is extremely disappointing. a D+ would be too easy on us I think. Let's just hope Harvey goes another year, and gets the send off he deserves.

y so many F's?
we are not going to get the spoon, so we're not that bad
and what is just a fail? is a D+ just a pass and a D just a fail?
i would give us a "D"
would of been a D- except we beat the weagles over there for harveys 350th, so they are lucky!

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

We started poorly and were wrecked by injuries, but there is still no excuse for letting so many winnable games slip. And we will come out of this season with no real benefit. The only kid that we have blooded is Gilbert. None of Sweeney, Brooks, Armitage, Howard, Ferguson or Watts have been given a fair go. Rather than taking a risk and seeing if we can uncover a gun (eg: Westhoff, Boak, Selwood, Everitt, Goldsack, Leuenberger etc), we've stuck with known quantities such as Rix, Voss, Thompson, Blake, L.Fisher, Attard, Jones and M.Clarke throughout the season, even when their performance doesn't warrant selection.
Effectively, our players are one year older, have had more injuries and will have lost confidence in themselves and their team mates. That is all that has happened this season at St Kilda. And it is likely that two of our best players in Harvs and Fraser will play their last game tomorrow.
We don't even come out of this with good draft picks. Positions 9-12 are effectively the bottom 4 these days. No finals and no great draft picks.

you remind me of the tosser who sat behind me all of last week and couldn't stop bagging the team.Aussie Bears wrote:Triple F
I hate footy
Way too much disappointment with St Kilda
Harvey should retire and play a season or two with port or geelong and get a flag
Irony of posting "I hate footy" on a football website

Jones and Attard were fairly given a go after good training/VFL form, but their performance has been the same throughout the year. Attard has been a reasonable player this year and earned his spot for most of the games, but there were a few weeks when he was contributing nothing and still getting a game while others were dominating at Casey for no reward. Jones has played the same game every time he's been in the seniors.Winmarvellous wrote:Since when was Attard a "known quantity"?
They were wildcards at the start of the season, but we've known what they are capable of for a while.

F, a huge fat F,
we were in winning positions in every game in teh second half of the season and lost 3 of them and drew in 1, a good side would ahve finished it off, we are not a good side and once again, like our whole history, we have been dissapointed.
once again,
season 2007 for St Kilda: F

Should have won the premiership in '04, '05, went nowhere in '06, wasted '07, wish for a win in '08

Frightfull skills.
Gameplan blew goats for the first half of the year.
More fkn injuries.
Soft wins in the second half made liers of us. Dropping games that were winnable shows that we DO NOT DESERVE TO PLAY FINALS.
I want a competitive side.
Crap year.
BAD BAD BAD.
List needs a massive turnover IMO...Players that have been on it for far too long.

We only beat 4 teams in the top 8.
We lost 4 games from teams in the top eight through choking.
We won 35% of our 1st quarters
We won 65% of our 2nd quarters
We won 50% of our 3rd quarters
We only won 25% of our last quarters.
Best win against West Coast.
For some reason our loss against Essendon was annoyed me the most (we kicked crap). That shocking game against hawthorn when we let them kick a goal in the dying seconds of the 3rd quarter annoyed me as well.
How we choked against the pies is beyond me.
Gibert as a find was great, Fiora was good.
We need to build the midfield and get a Health Black/Joel Smith kind of player and learn to freaking kick goals from outside 50.

It was not so long ago Butters and Thomas stood in front of us and said we are building a process for the future that should see this group win numerous flags in the next ten years. What a load of Sh*t , we have gone backwards. For this team not to make the finals is a disgrace. Someone must pay! I'm sure we will get the line that we have gotten from the club for 30 years "be patient" How F*cking patient do you want us to be? For F*ck sake somebody do something.....................
