That would make GT's comment a little more concerning, seeing as he works with Pickering on SEN.Dal_Santos_Gal wrote:I am pretty sure he is ...satchmo wrote:Is Liam Pickering his manager ?saintbrat wrote: because his manager doesn't use the media to enhance discusssions as others do
Or am I just being paranoid ?

Kosi is a marvellous player, but - if (as has been rumoured) he is holding out for a longer contract and can get it from one of the more desperate clubs then St Kilda would be right to let him go IMO.
His career could be over in the twinkling of an eye: can anyone imagine that he would be able/allowed/want to play on if he got another massive hit in the head during a game? He is therefore not the sort of player you build a team around, and any club that offers him the sort of long-term, high salary contract that you offer to such players would have to have rocks in its collective head.
We don't need the grief, given that we already have Hamill on such a contract.
Other clubs might be making polite inquiries, but I'd be astonished if any club ends up seriously offering a longer-term contract than the Saints have done. They've all seen what happened with Hamill as well, not to mention Nathan Brown (and his injury problems weren't even predictable).

Riewoldt could break his neck this week after a hit similar to Bell from Melbourne, so, would u say we can't build a team around him?
the same thing could happen to any player in the league, Kosi is as likely to cop a career ending injury as any other player
Kosi IS a guy you build a team around, we MUST keep him

Kosi has shown that he has extremely poor awareness and peripheral vision, so he gets himself into dangerous situations more than most players. And with his history of severe concussion, you would imagine that it would be of major concern if an incident like that happened again. Another monster collision and bleeding on the brain and it is goodbye Kosi.The_Dud wrote:this argument is pointless

I am a massive fan if Kosi and rate him as our most influential player, but if he wants a 3-year deal on 400k he's dreaming. It is just too much of a risk to sign him (on a high salary) for more than 2 years.

That was as much about us wanting to get rid of him as anything else. For all his abilitity, and he has plenty, with him it has always been about him and not the team. I very pleased when we let him go.Eastern wrote:Isn't it amazing how quickly we have forgotten Mr. Everett !!Leo.J wrote:

No problem! I personally wasn't that worried about it, but it still makes you relieved to hear that kind of news, just to settle the tiny doubt in the back of your head!SaintWodonga wrote:Thanks Saint Lara, best news I have all week...
