Court action over AFL story
August 24, 2007 - 7:35PM
A court injunction has been taken out preventing media outlets from further publication of television allegations aired tonight involving an AFL club and two of its players.
The Seven Network tonight made claims relating to the club and players, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Federal Ageing Minister Christopher Pyne said he was very disappointed for the players, the families and the AFL.
"It's always sad for individuals when revelations like this come to light," he said in a statement.
The AFL was making no comment tonight.

Not according to the Ch7 story.plugger66 wrote:Only 3 players have ever failed the tests twice and none are Hawks.n1ck wrote:I heard that three of the players have failed the test twice, while there are SEVEN who failed once.
They have reported 2 new players - both Hawks, as having failed twice. The original 3 were all interstate players from WA and SA although no-one really knows their names, according to the AFL
Guys
Please bear in mind that there is an injunction in place on this topic at the moment...from the Age website..
Lawyers acting for the doctor treating the players — Professor Gregory Whelan — sought and obtained an injunction last night, preventing publication of the players' names or the club they represent.
Please bear this in mind when discussing this topic..better to err on the side of caution I think
