I'll tell you who would be gutted by all this.
Stevie Baker.
And not because he's sitting on the sidelines for seven weeks, either.
He would be gutted because he knows that he had no intention of seriously injuring Farmer, that he did everything he could to make sure that nothing untoward or reportable was done, and yet he gets raped by this corrupt administration with a pretty clear agenda.
And worst of all, in the back of his mind he would suspect that Farmer has done this to himself, and that he is paying the price for another player's reckless and pea-brained actions.
Not that Farmer has form for reckless and pea-brained actions or anything ...

really right now Rod and the board have only one choice, take it further. If they don't they will get voted out before the years out!

Surely in nearly 4000 posts, things have been worse?? Me thinks other things are happening. Don't worry, Bakes won't have anyone to tag this week anyway.
be my last game of AFL this week.
Nope... I'll give not one more cent to this charade. It's total rubbish.
Cut up membership will be in the mail to the AFL first thing in the morn.
I'll be attacked... no biggie. This game has turned to shyte. Bye, bye AFL, hello life.
I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

getting furious too often about this shyt doesn't help relationships either, I'm with you, I'm with yousaintspremiers wrote:This is all a HUGE leg up for the A-League....a fresh, new comp without corruption and predijuce.
Bring on the Melbourne Victory......I'm losing interest in AFL now also.
It makes me furious too often.
If I, or it seems any Saints fan crossed paths with Dimwit, an evil stare would not really cut the mustard anymore......

U have to be careful what the cheer squad imply or infer on their banners because any indication of malice or ill will will see a hefty fine directed towards the club......(even though I think it would be worth it).Behind Play wrote:Is there a way other cheer squads would assist with their banners being directed at the injustice this verdict is?
I just think it would be a distraction your boys dont need.....

As some would know, I am one who does not have Baker in my "first pick" 22 because I believe his effectiveness is now diminished because the number of players he can be assigned a "tagging" role against is diminishing.
To labour the point, a few years ago he could keep Ablett at Geelong kickless.
Now Baker can not keep up with Ablett.
Baker's most effective days are behind him - but that is not to say that he can still be not be most effective - given the right match up.
It is just that the right match ups are diminishing.
Honest appraisal.
Further, Baker's reputation and record (against Judd and against Richmond particularly, because they got the press the AFL abhores) make him a marked player.
Unfortunately, in a marked team.
There are reasons why St Kilda is a marked team with the AFL.
Demitriou hates St Kilda with a passion.
And there is a core reason for that - which is nothing to do with the football club but all to do with someone once associated with the club.
As I posted elsewhere, all of those who see themselves as someone piss in each others pockets.
And they all suck up to Demitriou, and act in a manner to court his favour and allow them to bask in his radiated glory.
And Demitriou revels in it!
It is time for a clean out from the top down - and for someone who does not harbour grudges but instead commits to the future of the code to be appointed in Demitriou's stead - and as quickly as possible before the damage done is just too great.
There will be an outcry over this decision and the merits of it - and it will be an incident such as this that finally brings Demitriou down.
Remember he earns over $1Million a year, and lives the lifestyle.
When you turn such people upside down, and see what actually falls out as net worth - well quite often it is all show and no substance.

It's not the first & it won't be the last time that the team decide to make up for the loss of a good player. It's us against them now; more than anytime in the past, except when we tried to keep Essendon's hands off our Cox. If there are grounds; let's take them on in court; if not let's beat them where it counts (ON THE GROUND).aussierules0k wrote:Cheers linz.linz wrote:aussierules0k wrote:I'm done. This'll

I just believe in what's right is right. Bakes didn't punch or thump Farmer. All he did was stop running and try to block Farmer. This happens all the time.. true the ball was >50mtres away.. but Farmer ran into Bakes. End of story. 7 weeks is outragous... I love bakes... he's a tough nut.. but he keeps pretty much with in the rules. He's not a _unt who goes round bashing ppl.
F*** the AFL.

So, you're suggesting that Demitriou is still bitter with the man who sent him packing from Nth Melbourne in his playing days.To the top wrote:

Should we send an email to Mr. Demitriou and remind him that the man he is so bitter at was sacked by St Kilda in September 2006? !!

Looks like St. Kilda will have to carry the can again in taking legal action to rectify a broken system in the AFL/VFL.
Remember folks, we were heavily involved in the court action that dismantled the VFL's clearance rules (which were a clear restraint of trade) back in 1983.
We won't win any friends doing it but it's got to be done.
