MIlney..GOTY????

Post: # 436285Post saint66au »

Just a wonderful trademark Milney special in the 3rd Quarter...hopefully someone can pop it on YouTube at some stage.
Had the perfect view of it from the MW...was never gonna miss..

Certainly one of the Top 3 this year

Yeah it was a great view indeed. Every bit as good, if not better than Davis' goal last night. Lloyd's goal was apparently spectacular as well.

It was great.
For some reason, I knew he'd take a shot at it.
The ball when he dropped it was right on the line.
That's what we've been missing from Milney. I think, give him half a chance and he'll nail checksides from anywhere.

funny thing was that I'm totally sure he was trying to do the right thing and kick it to the top of the square. Came off the side of the boot and swerved at the last second. Awesome goal!

I think, he didn't want to be seen being goal hungry.

Lloyd's was rubbish ... just a bit of quick thinking to backheel it through from the goalsquare (a la Riewoldt).

For the commentators to immediately dissolve into rapture and declare it "goal of the year" made me physically ill. It was an insult to Pearce, Motlop, Jackson and others who have kicked genuinely spectacular goals this season.

We need to all vote this week to get Milney's goal up as goal of the week on the AFL website.

All the Bombers fans will vote for Lloyd .... we need to vote for Milne, and get everyone we know to vote for him too ...

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Lloyd's was actually very good, but it is almost identical to the back-heeler by Riewoldt earlier this year (or was it last year?)

Having said that, Milne's was a lot better. The impossible angle, if nothing else, should be the edge.

Was deliriously happy with Milney's goal of course but from bay 13 it never ever looked like he was actually having a shot. I was sure he was going for the top of the square. Lets face it - either the top of the square or a goal was good decision for Milney.

Oath, the MW view was unbelievable for it. I was on my feet long before it had gone through the sticks!

just saw the replay of Lloyds goal, pretty impressive BUT
shouldn't he have been pinged for dropping the ball?

he deliberately threw the ball on the ground (ie it wasnt knocked out of his hands), it bounced and then he kicked it.
basically a backwards dropkick.

is the dropkick illegal these days?

Milnes goal was one of the most spectacular pieces of play I've seen this year, if it isn't at leas Goal of the week, he has been cheated (funny how that keeps happening whenever we play the Frockers?)

No way was Wendy Waistbands goal anywhere close, he threw the ball down and fluked the BACK of his foot on it. Any of us could have done the same.

Well I would think he would only be pinged for dropping the ball if he was actually being tackled? I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know a tackle was being laid. If not, and he threw the ball with force into the ground before he kicked it, could it have technically been throwing the ball?

Beautiful goal, had a fantastic view of it on the MW.

How was Lloyds goal not dropping the ball??? Anywhere else on the ground you can't drop the ball let it bounce then kick it with out being pinged for Dropping the ball (or to be more precise incorrect disposal) so why is it different in the goalsquare?

The view from Aisle 32 Level 2 was just as good or even better than the MW..

It went through for a goal but when it bounced the Freo player thought it was
still in play and grabbed the pill and took off, stopped only by the Ump blowing his whistle and calling "All Clear".......

Good Floating Goal Milney......

:P
