dal santo interview on radio 6 pr last night
mostly run of the mill stuff but i thing made my ears stand up
sydney..the best/tightest in close team (ok most would agree)
the eagles(the best free flowing/attacking team(again most would agree)
where to we stand...I"M NOT QUIET SURE
coming from our 2nd best player after roo i reckon it underlines just where we are at...in the bottom 1/2 with the WORST points for in the comp....is the message not getting through to the coaching panel or are they just too stupid to notice
last yr we would /did not except mediocrity (people lost there jobs)this yr if you heard rod butterss in syd on sat night we are in the land of clover
3 losses to finish the season & we will have a new pres
another crap yr like this next yr we will have a new coach

A little concerning.
I'm reasonably confident that with a full pre-season under their belts with Lyon in control, we will see a much better St Kilda in 2008.
Having said that ... RB will be gone at season's end IMO ... from what I hear there are few who want him around anymore ...

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Not so much over rated, more under achieved.Lennon wrote:I wouldn't describe him as our best player after Roo.
Overrated beyond belief.
Nick is a smart kid, and a very talented footballer. He will be very good for us more often than not.
Of course, we'd all prefer that is more often !
*Allegedly.

its not a matter of being reasonably confident...we will have a much better 2008 with a full pre-season under ross the boss and a few of our players getting their first pre-season in a few yearsOh When the Saints wrote:A little concerning.

this season and last is just the calm before the storm

Everton, in my eyes Dal has a few significant weaknessesevertonfc wrote:Underrated by this forum who slate him for no reason.
Gun player, but not having his best year.
There's no real weakness in his game and as he improves over time, he'll tear the comp apart in coming years.
1. He lacks urgency in picking up a man when we don't have the ball.
2. He's not fit enough or isn't prepared to run hard enough to break a tag.
When he sorts these two areas out he will be spoken about as one of the best going around.

He is a gun, a superb technician.bigcarl wrote:dal is a gun. superb skills and amazing evasive ability. i'd really like him to spend more time near half forward/goal this season. started to nail a few important ones in the second half of the season and to me it indicated he can move from star to superstar if he's willing to put in the hard work
Although, and he's admitted to this himself, he could work a lot harder. Sometimes he's even had to write "RUN" on his arm just to remind himself.
As you say, the only thing standing in his way from becoming one of the greats of the game is work ethic.

in a team that didn't kick enough goals last season could he be of better use in more of a half-forward role? or is he too valuable on the ball?OLB wrote:He is a gun, a superb technician.bigcarl wrote:dal is a gun. superb skills and amazing evasive ability. i'd really like him to spend more time near half forward/goal this season. started to nail a few important ones in the second half of the season and to me it indicated he can move from star to superstar if he's willing to put in the hard work
