During what years did St Kilda have black, white and yellow as their colours (including for heritage rounds)?
Fraser is correct.

Top 10 are:

Gehrig, F. 88
Ball, L. 86
Baker, S. 86
Riewoldt, N.86
Harvey, R. 85
Goddard, B.83
Voss, B. 83

We switched to Black, Yellow and Red in 1915 during WW1 as the R,W & B colours were aligned with the filthy Krauts (sorry I mean our peace loving German friends).

The red yellow and black jumper was used between 1915 and 1922, originally as stripes, then changing to a vee design. The change was originally made because of World war I as our colors were the same as the enemy, Germany, and was changed to the colors of Belgium, an ally. The club changed back to red, white and black in 1923.

The yellow colors made a return in 2001 as the club used a yellow version of the current home jumper in a promotion for major sponsor Pura Milk. The jumper was modified as used as a clash strip in 2002 and 2003.

The last time we used the yellow was a version of the original 1915 strip (not the more attractive vee design used in the 1918 finals) in the 2005 Heritage Round against the Kangaroos.

Riccardo I think it was your turn.
But given this was buried 8 pages down I'll take over ...

At the Junction Oval R17 1922 our legend Dave McNamara set 2 (probably 3) records that still stand.

What was his achievements that day ?

I know he set some long kicking records so I will go with:

Longest kick
longest goal
longest place kick

Longest kick
longest goal
longest place kick
MLF,
DMcN was renowned for his legendary long kicking, so whilst he might have bagged a monster on that day, those are NOT the three answers I was looking for.

Mmmm .... tough one Enrico.

Geelong did not kick a goal until half-time that day, whilst the Saints had an 8-goal third quarter.

McNamara was the first league footballer to kick 100 goals, although he did so in the VFA. Was twice voted "Champion of the Colony", the equivalent to the Brownlow Medal.

1. McNamara kicked the most points in a match ... 1 goal 13 behinds

A clue ??

McNamare kicked ten goals that day..

9 goals from a place kick

Became the first Saint to boot 10 goals in a match

The oldest player to boot 10 goals in a match (35 years old)

The only player to boot 9 goals in a match with a place kick

One of his goals travelled 70 yards

St Fid you are right on the mark.
I think the last time anyone kicked a place-kick goal was Tony Ongarello, but DMcN kicked 9.

Only thing I would add is that his 10 goal bag is still the club record against Geelong (though Billy Mohr, Plugger, Stewie and Spider all managed bags of 9).

I'm not 100% sure that at 35 he is the oldest ever to kick 10, maybe the oldest to that point in time? Just have a vague feeling that Coventry may have kicked one in his old age ?

In 1938...

Why was the round 12 Saints V Essendon match brought forward and played after round 8?

To commemorate the issue of the first Spiderman comic by Action Comics 14th June 1938.

LOL

Because it would have taken too long to travel back from Geelong the following week?

The Junction Oval could not be used on the date required?

An Essendon player was going to be suspended, so they brough the match foward to spite St. Kilda?

Because some guy thought it would be a good idea?

I really don't know ..... clue?

I think 2007 is on the right track.
Alan Hird (James' grandfather) had joined the army as part of the pre-war build up and was being sent overseas on June 15th, so Percy Oakley (Ross' father) had to bring the game forward.

I was thinking along similar line but wouldn't just about every team in the vfl have one player going away then but this was the only game brought forward... (well only checked two other teams for that year). I say it's got something to do with someone killed in the war and they wanted to have a tribute game.

No...

As I have said...

Sainterone is the closest...

I only stumbled on this whilst looking for a question and went to the site that I have posted...

I realised this round 12 match (after round 8, with only a day break) and did a little research....
