It must be one of those.

Thompson was born in October if that helps narrow it down.

In his career
a) how many goals did Ross Lyon kick?
b) how many did he kick whilst with Brisbane?

Saintbrat,
got the 127 from the StKilda website - so it's probably wrong.
Got the 0 Brisbane goals from the AFL stats site.

Assuming I am right, heres an interesting one ....

Who am I ?
I am arguably StKilda's most successful coach ever.
Or at least I have the highest winning percentage of any coach in StKilda's history.

I played for StKilda.
I coached StKilda.
My name is NOT Allan Jeans.
I actually coached them in three separate bursts over a period of 16 years.
Twice I got StKilda into finals.
All up my win rate was 59%
My winning % rate is the highest of any coach in our history, just ahead of Yabbie Jeans on 58%.

Who am I ?

Well, I'll have a go...

I thought that the only coach to coach the Saints in three separate periods was Jimmy Smith...

Coach 1909 - finished bottom with a 2 - 16 win/loss ratio

Coach 1915 - finished 7th with a 5 -11 win/loss ratio

Coach 1918 - finished 4th with a 8 - 6 win/loss ratio

In 1918 we lost the the first Semi-Final

Collingwood 7:16 58
to
St Kilda 7:7 49

George Sparrow

1913 13 wins 8 losses
1920 1 win 4 losses
1928 11 wins 7 losses
1929 12 wins 7 losses

Overall 37 wins 26 losses 58.73%

By the way A-Z of AFL Footballers has Ross Lyon with 112 Goals.

Well I have George Sparrow coaching in...

1913 11/7 win ratio (2 finals)
1914 9/8 win ratio with 1 draw

1928 11/7 win ratio
1929 12/6 win ratio (1 final)

To me that is only 2 separate bursts and not 3??

:?

Sources smources !

My data agrees with Snakeman66.

Answer
I am George Sparrow
I played 25 games for StKilda.

In 1913 I was appointed as our 5th ever coach.
I won 13 out of 21 games and took us to a Grand Final.
The next year I was dropped for the legendary Dave McNamara.

In 1920 I was brought back as a fill-in coach where I won 1 out of 5 games.

Then followed another 5 coaches before I was given a third chance in 1928.
I then coached for 37 matches over 2 seasons with 23 wins.
In 1929 we finished 4th.

All up I coached for 63 matches with 37 wins, a winning percentage of almost 59%.

Over to you Snakeman ....

======================================
PS The Ross Lyon 127 v 112 goals is interesting.
If you google "Ross Lyon goals" it refers you to a quote that he played 168 games and kicked 127 goals (second reference).

http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&q ... DcountryAU
But when you click on the article (StKilda website) it says he played 127 games and doesn't refer to his goals.
I checked the stats.rleague.com to determine he kicked no goals with Brisbane.
So perhaps the 112 goals total with none at Brisbane is right ?

Over the last 4 seasons(2003-2006), which player has played in the most games for St Kilda?

Has played 80 games in last 4 years out of possible 94(2006 23,2005 24, 2004 25 but only 8 in 2003). Would be ranked 9th(equal with Thommo).

That'd be Frase.

During what years did St Kilda have black, red and yellow as their colours (including for heritage rounds)?

Black white and yellow?

That would have to be the yellow peril jumper.

Unless you meant black, red and yellow which was worn at one stage during world war I because red, white and black were German colors at the time.
