Two different sources have Bill Cannon wearing different numbers. One 24 the other 47. Obviously one is wrong.

West of Moorabbin has Biil Cannon wearing 24 which was my original answer but I have another site which says 47 which is what you were looking for.

This is a great site for Saints fans and has a list of all player numbers.

Nice easy question.

Bill Mildenhall played 77 games in the 70's & 80's.

What else is he famous(or notorious) for?

Don't know which one is wrong.

Only info I had was from West of Moorabbin and another site. They do a great job on WOM. Not prepared to say they are wrong. There info is just different to another site. I will Email the peanut anyway and ask the question.

Ok :D

Two 100+ game players and Victorian representatives have worn the number 48 for us before they received a lower number. One of them went to number 29 before settling on his final number.

Name both players.

Bonus points if you can name the years in which they wore the number 48.

Jeff Dunne I'm sure wore 48 but I can't remember if he changed to a lower number.

Re: Bill Cannon
Posted on saintational by 'ctqs ' a couple of years back was a list of Saints player numbers taken from his footy 'record' collection (also available on westofmoorabbin) - he has Bill Cannon wearing number 24 in 1976 and 47 in 1975. He has S. Watt wearing number 24 in 1975 and D. Shepherd wearing number 47 in 1976 - but the 'player numbers' list on westofmoorabbin that was referred to in this thread has David Sheppard wearing number 48 from 1976 to 1977.
:? . . . can someone provide more info or confirm any of these records?

Absolutely correct. Do you happen to know which years that they wore 48.

One was in the 70's and one in the 80's.

I THINK Burkey wore his in his fiorst year (89?)

Reckon Jeff Dunne wore 8 in 1979 so maybe 1978??

OK...mid 80s at Moorabbin..St Kilda plays North Melbourne..

The NORTH side that day had among its number...(including emergencies)

* SOmeone who would go on to coach St KIlda

* SOmeone who shares a full name with an ex St Kilda Coach

* Someone who would go on to be an assistant coach at St Kilda

* Someone who would go on to play 5 games for the Saints in the twilight of his career

Name these 4 players..If you have a crack at all 4 I'll tell you how many you have right but not giving any correct answers til someone gets all four!

Grant Thomas would be the North player ...

Which means the year must be 1984 ...

Ross Smith would be the player that shares a full name with an ex-St. Kilda coach ...

Support the President, support the board, support the members and support the coach and players.

They are the St. Kilda Football Club.

Not Grant Thomas.

My info has Jeff Dunne in 1979, no-one wore it in 78

Burkey was 87
