100%

I was watching an interview with Travaglia and Deledio. Travaglia was hyping Barrat up saying he overcame some great adversity. Didn’t really click until I rewatched it and realised it was about Barrat. My rage for selecting another defender at our second round pick thus subsided. Then I watched this video and was like wow. This kid is amazing.

I totally agree and hope he stays with Mason wood. He will become a champion. Way more upside than Battle.

What a cracking video. Thanks for this.

Bizarre he wasn't talked about more often in the lead up to the draft. Suits us, though. Might've found ourselves an absolute ripper. Everything I've read and seen of him warrants a 2nd selection. Could be an absolute steal.

He looks like a top bloke. Could be be pivotal in the Danny Frawley centre space with the loss of his mum and battling some adversity / developing resilience.

Another thing to note, is when a few of the draftees this what got asked who they think is underrated about 4 of them said this bloke.

That was Travaglia, the Whitlock brothers and another (name escapes me). That’s pretty good!

It's a shame that Van Es didn't fulfil his potential, but I think we may have picked up two future KP defenders with both Tauru and Barrat

Hopefully they keep growing at least a couple of more centimetres...and fingers crossed for no major injuries (goes without saying but I had to say it anyway  )

Good that we have another Jimmy in the team too 8-)

Not that underrated. He won the Pioneers B & F.

He sounds like the full back from Gold Coast Sam Collins.

Someone should put that as a comparison in the discussion about the player in the first and second post of this topic.

Barrat turned 18 years old 3 days ago and listed as 194cm
Wilike 191cm
Battle 193cm

I recon Barrat will fit out a bit and be bigger than those 2!
Steven May 193cm does more than fine on talls!

Sam Taylor 196 is the optimal key def size.

But more important is reach, closing speed, core strength.

Then you still need to be a reader of the game to be a great backman.

Even if he growing you will notice that the club does not put in the new height players get listed when they come to the club and I have not seen anyone get listed bigger which I find very hard to believe.
