Lol Curly. I thought you had finally gotten rid of this particular bee in your bonnet when you admitted you didn't know how academies worked and said "You also realize a lot of it is pot luck yeah?" when I suggested we try to do something similar with our NGA.

WTF are actually talking about? You posted we f***ed up as we didn't turn average players into draftable ones.

Did they get the academy pics for free did they?

Here I was thinking they had to match bids for them

Unlike us who got priority picks given to us.

They developed their academy kids (in a rugby league state) and after drafting them developed them well as players

Oh please I’m glad Blakey got into the academy no way he would have played Aussie rules🤦‍♂️

Heeney rated 1-3 for pick 19 Mills 1-3 pick late first round.
Money for Buddy.

How do you think we would have gone if we lost 09 and 10 and got the best two kids in the draft and Gary Ablett junior.

4 grand finals
1 premiership

Good record
5 Grand Finals
1 premiership

The Hawks also gave them a hiding in the COLA Grand Final in 2014.
We're at
6 Grand Finals (7 if you count the draw - but I'm counting the years)
1 Premiership
In like 150 years (or whatever it is).

Geez, now I don't feel so good.
1913
1965
1966
1971
1997
2009
2010 + Replay

7 not including the draw, but we won the first Final in 1913 too, don't forget - but Fitzroy had the right to challenge because they finished on top of the ladder at the end of the H&A season. So, it's 7 or 8 Grand Finals.

The Swans played in about 10 Grand Finals in a row in the 30s and only won one of them.

Curly what are you talking about

Heeney was pick 18 - their first round pick
Mills was pick 3 - matched bid
Buddy was a FA

Blakey could’ve gone to Syd or North - chose Sydney

We shouldn’t have Owens or Windhager either if you were right

If it was a debate, say, one side could argue Roos set it up and handed it to him on a plate, how the F could they afford to to pay Buddy so much/so long, after Demetriou's blunder of bagging Swans style the umps gave them a ride for yonks, Sydney had to be successful, although clearly robbed in the GF Footscray won love to know what went wrong there.

You’ve just proved my point cheers.

Heeney rated 1-3 in the draft they get him for 18
Same with Mills.

Blakey why would he even be tied to Sydney that’s just a pisstake.
