Re: Tobie Travaglia
Dermie on SEN rang him the day after.
Dermie:" what sort of strange questions did a club ask you?
Tobie:" when I spoke to Carlton, at the end of the interview, they asked me a hypothetical- if I was living with a couple of team-mates, and they got home late after doing something dodgy, would you cover for them, or tell Voss?"
He reckons he told the Blues 'i would tell Vossy'
and said to Dermie 'if it actually happened, I really don't know which way I'd go'
Don't hate on him, he's a teenager, not an adult.
Hell, there's been Pies players that crashed a car drunk, and Eddie Maguire publicly stood by them and said 'Fake News' and had to backtrack when the players owned up

A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Travaglia won the Pioneers B&F in his under age year (2023) which is a great performance
Name the AFL player he beat?
He was runner up this season

Agreed. Ridiculous question. So many variables. For starters depends what they’ve done dodgymagnifisaint wrote: ↑Sun 24 Nov 2024 10:30amWhat a stupid hypothetical question!WellardSaint wrote: ↑Sat 23 Nov 2024 12:02am Dermie on SEN rang him the day after.

Not gonna lie, after watching this, I feel better about his selection.
Really looking forward to seeing what he can do.

Re: Tobie Travaglia
He oozes professionalism. Dare I say, Captain material. Tauru is the same but more humble and laid back. He can play midfield. Just in those highlights you see the bursts in stoppage and the goal kicking noose he has as well. That’s just him getting thrown in the guts towards the end of the year. Imagine when he starts getting taught properly?
Half back isn’t a bad place to start too. Sheezel and McKercher both starting on half back and only Sheezel now is playing midfield rotations and is looking damaging. We obviously got Lenny, Harvey, Goddard and Steele/Macrae to teach him. Goddard will be perfect for him.
I honestly can’t wait for next year.

Re: Tobie Travaglia
He beat Harley Reid in his underage year.
Travaglia then got beat by Barrat this year.
Imagine when Reid’s contract is up and we poach him.

When someone asks a hypothetical with no right answer - the right response is to answer by asking them another question.
They aren't testing for the answer you give - they're testing how you think.

So the response question might have been how long has Vossy been a gossip voyeur?

From what I heard Reid only played about 5-6 games that year thoughTheGreatZacsby wrote: ↑Sun 24 Nov 2024 3:15pmHe beat Harley Reid in his underage year.

You’ve flipped the question through humour.

I don't think it's generational, I think it's trained.Nick DalSanto Claus wrote: ↑Fri 22 Nov 2024 6:15pm I think that confidence applies in general to "Gen Z". All those who were interviewed after their selections presented in similar ways.
Confident and willing to share their strengths and who they are similar to in playing style. It's just the style of the day. Plenty of sharing on social media as well. It's their way and how they've been raised. We've got a couple of beauties.

My thoughts exactly. Media training would be part of their last couple of years, along with training to be prepared to speak to the clubs.Otiman wrote: ↑Tue 26 Nov 2024 10:25amI don't think it's generational, I think it's trained.Nick DalSanto Claus wrote: ↑Fri 22 Nov 2024 6:15pm I think that confidence applies in general to "Gen Z". Re: Tobie Travaglia
My daughter-in-law is a teacher and she thinks it's a product of the, "Everyone gets an award generation." She believes we've created a generation of narcissists who fail to see how they may not be brilliant at everything. That's an argument for another thread.Otiman wrote: ↑Tue 26 Nov 2024 10:25amI don't think it's generational, I think it's trained.Nick DalSanto Claus wrote: ↑Fri 22 Nov 2024 6:15pm I think that confidence applies in general to "Gen Z". Then again, kids who have been in a system for the elite since their very junior footy days wouldn't lack confidence. They do get sugar blasted up the wazoo at every opportunity.
