I only came to doubt his effectiveness in the last 3 years.

That Sydney flag in Longmire's first year as senior coach was more as a result of the momentum and legacy from Paul Roos.The 2012 team could have coached themselves.

He's been a very very good coach and was unlucky in 2016.

I think he's gone passed his use by date. I wouldn't have said this if Sydney hadn't performed so poorly in the Grand Final this year

The name of the game is to win Premierships. I think after the debacle of that loss to Port Adelaide late in the year, it was a warning sign that Longmire wasn't preparing the team to perform at their best.

Their dominance prior to that game gave them an opportunity. It was up to the coach to capitalise on that momentum and hunger.

Obviously...he thought he was doing the right thing..but I don't think you can afford to cruise as a collective. You can't afford to assume that a majority of the team can pretend to be competitive by just turning up and earning match payments.

They 'd destroyed teams and went on a 10-game-in-a row winning streak before narrowly losing to the Dockers by 1 point in round 16 and then losing by 2 points to us in round 17. They lost to Brisbane at the Gabba by only 2 points in rnd 19.

Sydney was sitting on top of the ladder and when you're 2 games clear with only 5 rounds to go...and a top 4 spot all but locked away, it's your job to plan for finals. It's your job to keep the players keen and hungry and you utilise the whole list to achieve your ultimate goal
