Do we need another Key Forward might be debatable, but, the club didn't think we needed one.
Defenders, mids and a ruck were our needs, apparently, for season 2025.
That’s not what I got out of it.
What I got was that if they wanted a Key Forward, that the one the wanted wasn’t there.
Same with mids.
We have midfielders and key forwards.
We just don’t have the quality or style that we want.
Taking a sub-standard KPF or mid is going backwards, not forwards.

It’s still going because you’re still replying with back pedalling
Again, as you refuse to reply to posts, I have no idea what the context of your comment is.
And don’t tell me the context is clear, because in this case, it clearly is not.

Lol. Going to assume this is replying to me. I can't be sure exactly because I haven't done any backpedaling (given we have the same position, even if I was backpedaling I would have back pedaled to the exact same position I started with).
Maybe I used too many words for you in my original post? Here are just the critical words for you:

I'm not convinced Hammer makes it yet... so needs to have a big year coming up.
Compared to what you said:

Big year for
...
Anthony Caminiti
...
I think you might be losing your marbles. Having one opinion on one thread, and arguing with that same opinion in another thread just because someone else said it. Very funny stuff, but I am starting to get a bit concerned for you.
I believe Caminiti makes it. Has shown enough in his two first seasons to indicate he can play.
Big and powerful lad. Good hands and competes hard.
Lol that is a difference I guess, you believe he makes it and I am not convinced but hope he does.
Just to help your comprehension, I didn't say he for sure wouldn't make it, I didn't even say that I though he wouldn't make it, just that I wasn't convinced yet. Not sure that is worth all your arguing but pretty funny that you thought so.

You criticised his numbers
I reckon that as a teen/20yo they are acceptable
You really need to start quoting BM. Or at least read the thread back so you can comprehend what is being said. From your last few posts it reads like you think I said he was never going to make it because his past numbers were crap. Instead all I said was this:
St Dave wrote: ↑Thu 21 Nov 2024 7:18pm
He has only kicked more than two goals in a game once in 33 games.
I hope he does make it (like I hope everyone in a Saints guernsey does), just based on the last couple of seasons he will be at or over 50 games by the end of the year. Not many players get 50 games to find their feet so like I said, he needs to have a big year.
Just a statement of fact (not even any personal assessment applied to it) in the context of him needing a big year. Because kicking a goal a game on average isn't going to be enough going forward. You even agreed this point earlier so I don't know what your issue still is.

The word ‘only’
Clearly makes it a criticism
Lol, the comprehension. So your whole argument comes down to me using a single word 'only'? I wish you had of said that at the start, could have saved us all a lot of trouble. I hate to tell you this BM, but if the word 'only' gets you this worked up, I would stay away from the internet. Some people on there say players performances can be [trigger warning] 'bad' [/trigger warning].
In the context of needing to have a bigger year in the future, it is just a statement of fact. As in, early on a goal a game might be fine, but 'only' performing at that level is not going to keep him in the team forever (something even you agreed with).
I know you don't reply, but if you understood the context of my statement by seeing the history of it you might be able to understand it better.

I’m not worked up
Just giving my opinion
On the fact that if a young forward ONLY averages 1 goal per game in his first 2 seasons - he should have done better
I think Rooney was under a gpg after year 2
Lol and yet you have kept arguing against something I didn't even say, just because I used the word "only".
That you are still going on this with an apparently sound mind is potentially worse (but much funnier), because then you don't really have a reason for not comprehending what 'only' means in the context of comparing part performance with potential future performance (which is all I have ever done).

I'm surprised you haven't blamed the club for not developing Ryan Byrnes into a key forward.
I’m not convinced on Caminiti yet. Needs to work on his “footy brain”, runs to the wrong spot a lot, makes odd decisions, a bit of “headless chook” about him.
Sharman is a much better prospect in my opinion.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

I tend to agree with this. Sharman understands the game of aussie rules. Caminiti is the powerful athlete.
That’s why I think Caminiti will be better suited in the long run as a KP defender. His positioning and movement is clearly defined. He doesn’t need to compete against his own team mates or get in their space. He doesn’t need to be creative. He can just focus on nullifying an opponent.
As far as KP forwards are concerned, the club made a decision to cut Tim Membrey. This is in line with the long term objective of rebuilding the side. We have King, Sharman and Owens who will occupy the forward line each and every week (unless they are injured). Depending on their form and the form of other guys like Phillipou we also need to give opportunities to Keeler, Heath and possibly one or two of the draft class of 2024.
