2nd key defender/CHB

Post: # 2082929Post B.M »

Who will replace Battle?

Contenders
Zaine Cordy
195cm Senior player
Good ordinary player, he and Howard could release Wilkie from key defender to 3rd where he can be more aggressive
Doubt it though, Cordy is really more of a back up for Howard

Anthony Caminiti
196cm
Big and powerful, is a key forward who was trialled back for a few games last season. Has the size, but is he seen as a KPF

Alix Tauru
193cm draftee
Athletic and courageous and has talent. Undersized obviously and lacks experience and strength.

Isaac Keeler
198cm
Athletic and tall with a great leap. Played back for the majority of last season, which I believe was a mistake. He did ok but didn’t defend well enough in body one on ones
Much more suited to forward ruck.

Cooper Sharman
193cm
A natural forward with a big leap, good hands and nice kick. Has played down back, but is much more likely to replace Tim Membery as a 3rd forward.

Forgot

Arie Schoenmaker
194cm
Natural defender, not the greatest one on one defender though but an offensive weapon out of the back half

Battle wasn't much good one on one either. Taller opponents would outmark him.

All good points, but I think we will see a slight restructure of the backline. Hopefully Boris still has his fingerprints on it though.

In this scenario, Caminiti takes the defensive 2nd tall role and releases Wilkie to be intercept defender/3rd tall.

If it's Tauru then Wilkie stays where he is.

FB/1st tall - Howard (backup Cordy)
2nd tall - Caminiti
3rd tall/intercept defender - Wilkie
Attacking Back 1 - Nas/Sinclair rotating
Attacking Back 2 - Arie
2nd small - Stocker

Normally you pick 7 defenders
Howard
Wilkie
Sincs
Nas
Webster
Would be locks

Schoenmaker
Stocker
Travaglia
McLennan
O’Connell
Tauru
Hastie
Cordy

To battle for 2 spots

Interesting to see what they do with Caminiti?!

Interesting point on Webster, he's one we don't have a ready made replacement for. A nuggety small/medium defender. I think you need two, so we've got Stocker and 1 more. Hopefully it's McLennan.
