Who is left on the board?
With our next pick at 32, hopefully no one bids on our NGA players so we can grab another player.
Only 4 picks between now and our pick, these are some of the players left on the board worth looking at.
Who do you want?
Jack Whitlock 200cm FWD
Christian Moraes 183cm Mid/Fwd
Tom Sims 199cm FWD
Alex Dodson 203cm RUC
Jobe Shanahan 194cm FWD
Hugh Boxsall 188cm Mid
Tom Gross 181cm Mid/Fwd

Re: Who is left on the board?
I want Shanahan to pair with Max King.
Dodson as we need Ruck Depth.
Or a combination of the two in Whitlock.

Re: Who is left on the board?
Why have Brisbane still got picks in the 40s - ahead of our pick which is pushed out to 52?
They should’ve lost those picks matching bids

Re: Who is left on the board?
Surely we pick the Whitlock twin
His first name is Jack
If we're getting Andrew Brayshaw and Luke Davies-Uniacke next year we may as well load up on KP players.

Re: Who is left on the board?
With all the meltdowns from saints fans I just want to say this. Tauru and TnT (Travaglia) are great picks.
Travaglia looks to me like a quicker Will Day. As if Will Day and Trent Rivers had a blonde baby and that is him. He will be a midfielder. Will add something different there.
Tauru is a marquee player. I’m already deciding to rip out a Viking hat for his debut game. The kid is X-factor. He will cover off the loss of Battle EASY.
What we do for the next pick. I bloody hope we get Shanahan. The bloke kicked 3+ goals in his 3 outings in the Essendon VFL side. If not him than Dodson or Whitlock. Move Owen’s in the midfield. He is a contested beast. He’s the proven Harvey Langford / Josh Smilie type that we wanted. Throw him in the guts where he belongs. Let Shanahan or Whitlock move into the fwd line and take his spot. Let Sharman play higher. Give Max King a fuxking chop out.
Let Owen’s give Steele a f****** chop out.
I’m like we drafting best available talent. We have done very well tonight with the stupid decision of North going for another gun mid.

Re: Who is left on the board?
I suppose that Shanahan is my pick.
Sounds like we want a tall with our pick.
Good news is, that Bulldogs have 2 of the next 4 picks, and they are not in need of height at the moment. Likely to have 1 of Shanahan, Dodson or Whitlock left over.

Re: Who is left on the board?
I reckon Richmond will take Dodson
Bulldogs will take Moraes
Eagles will take either Shanahan or Whitlock
Bulldogs probably Gross
(Great haul by the dogs with their picks!)
Leaving us to choose from Whitlock, Shanahan, Sims, Gerryn if we go a key forward
Not sure we will take a key forward though
Caminiti, Keeler, Sharman and obviously King.
Not a huge amount of quality mids around this pick
Hamish Davis perhaps
Key Defenders
Mraz and Cole

Re: Who is left on the board?
Trade next years first to Richmond for their pick.
Pick up Moraes and Dodson.
"The trait which allows Moraes to find so much of the ball is his running capacity. Fresh off a 6:25 result in the National Draft Combine's 2km time trial, Moraes has shown he can carve up the opposition with chains of possession and gut running on the attack. His ability to combine with teammates by hand and carry the ball forward is a real asset, and one which often results in score involvements. He's a line-breaker."
Giving us from this draft 2 x elite running players
High potential swingman
Best ruck from this draft
Would be a good haul imo before we get to the later picks.

Re: Who is left on the board?
The only problem with all that is that Owen isn’t showing anything as a mid.TheGreatZacsby wrote: ↑Wed 20 Nov 2024 11:03pm With all the meltdowns from saints fans I just want to say this. Tauru and TnT (Travaglia) are great picks.

Everyone keeps saying, put him in the midfield. The biggest chunk in his armour is he doesn’t seem to read the game well. The other chink is his field kicking is only average. Yeah he’s a competitive beast but I’m not convinced he’d win more than 15-17 possessions in the midfield.

Re: Who is left on the board?
I like Jack Whitlock.
Surprised his brother went first.
No reason he couldn’t play key forward or back.
I also like that he’s 200cm and not a 193 hybrid key forward.
With Sharman & Owens we have two of those sub key position medium types up forward, I’d like another 200cm pure key position player.

I like Jack Whitlock to partner King what a combination that would be unfortunately I don't think it will happen. Maybe we look at Jobe Shanahan as second option but I hear we are into Moraes so both these boys we might miss on.
Is Jobe Shanahan any relation to Jamie Shanahan from our 1997 GF team?

Re: Who is left on the board?
Did anyone watch Cole in his two vfl games this year? Understand he was young but f*** he looked bad, really hope we skip him and pick Hofmann instead using our later picks.
Shanahan or Whitlock would be great selections. I think the club will go Tom gross though.

Re: Who is left on the board?
best available player.
Worst case collect talent and trade on if needed.
Remember have 2 academy players to come in - Cole and Hoffman - both defenders.

Re: Who is left on the board?
Because Richmond, North, Carlton and Adelaide refused to bid on Ashcroft.
Consequently Brisbane retained enough points equivalent to a bonus first round pick 21.

What time does part 2 commence?
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.
