Send Pick 7 and our F1 to North for a quality mid. Guarantee FOS / Draper / Smith / Langford.

Split Pick 8 for GWS 15/16 and grab best available.

That’s how you do Draft Night.
Yep, and North should jump at it.

We need A grade

No small mids!!!
No undersized key defenders!!! 193cm is no longer tall enough for a key defender!!!
No half back flankers to be sprinkled with fairy dust in the hope of (maybe) one day turning into midfielders (but usually into pumpkins  )!!!

I just hope that we get lucky and one of the big bodied mids gets through to us.

Then, I'd split our next pick for two in the teens, and hopefully pick up Armstrong and Martin's man Hynes. Both would be steals.

I know we need mids, but, Armstrong... big, mobile, key forward, with a booming, and, accurate kick. If we can't orchestrate a suitable split of our second pick, then I say we keep it, and it goes on Armstrong. Land that bloke, and I'd even look at sacrificing The Hammer to a key defensive post. (Though I still think he loses his man to easily to successfully lock down an opposition key forward.)

Then, I'd be looking at doing something with a 2025 pick/s to get another 2024 pick to land Hynes. Can't believe he's being almost universally touted as still being around into the 20s. IMHO, he's clearly closer to a pick around 10.

It's Dave, man. Will you open up? I got the stuff with me! -------Who?

9 of the top 10 players in the comp for average disposals this season were 185cm or smaller. It'd be nice to have a big contested beast but what we really need is elite talent. That's why I'm all in on Murphy Reid if none of the top 6 slide.

Cal Twomey on Saints

Draft picks: 7, 8, 32, 47, 80, 88 (likely to use five or six selections)

It is going to be a busy couple of nights for the Saints. They are in the sights of clubs wanting to trade up the order to pick No.8 and will have a decision to make, while also having their future first-rounder on the table for the right price and player. In total they could make around six draft selections. They have nominated Elwood Peckett, the son of former player Justin, as a father-son but have made no commitment to taking him, while the same goes for NGA pair Adrian Cole and Lennox Hofmann. A bid for Hofmann could come in the 30s. Expect the Saints to grab a ruckman in there somewhere (potentially as a rookie) and they have looked at WA mature-ager Lachie Blakiston and Norwood big man Harry Boyd as well as young ruckman Aiden Riddle. If Alex Dodson is there at 32 he would have to be looked at closely too. West Australian midfield pair Cody Angove and Hugh Boxshall could be in the mix, they have done work on defender James Barrat, while the Saints have also assessed Tom Ryan, a Sydney Academy prospect who is a tall forward and the cousin of Richmond's Samson. St Kilda will upgrade rookie pair Cooper Sharman and Max Heath to the senior list.

The closer this draft gets and the more "locked in" the top few picks are, the more I think we will be trading picks. Wouldn't surprise me if we end up trading both first rounders depending on who is left on the table. It will be hard to trade upwards in the order unless we have good intel on who's going where.

Some options are:
2,16
15, 16, 18, 20
8, 15, 16
7, 18, 20

Of Mocks:
was that televised event as amateur as a multi million $ industry could put on.
Dixon crass and inane, Dillon skipping on and off stage, camera operators trying to spy on Sydney notes, a child playing with a lollie snake lodging the pick one choice.
What a mob.
