Sad to see the latin go but I think it’s pretty good.

It’s more functional and contemporary and has more of a slick branding feel but on the other hand we have lost an important historical element.

I give it an 8/10 overall.

The Latin is still there, just in the hem of the guernsey.

This just gets it out of the logo to make it more versatile for marketing.

I think it says more about our clubs previous track record of incompetence that people are more relieved that they didnt completely and utterly stuff it up then anything else....

It certainly isn't bad.
But there's nothing odd, quirky or curious about it, like the old one -- so therefore inferior to it.

I just don't believe there's been pressure from the public for "a bolder crest".
Maybe there's been pressure from the marketeers for a bolder logo. I can understand their thinking, but am profoundly sceptical of their inside insights and enthusiasms.

The new one does now look "clearer". Which is fine -- but that also means blander, more obvious, less unique and historical.

A job nicely done, but not really a job that needed to be done.

The new crest has as much Latin on it as every other logo/crest had on it prior to the last one.
None.
If anything, the Latin on the previous crest is an outlier, and against the culture and foundation.

It’s fine I guess, not sure it was overly worth the change.

The motto isn't gone, just moved off the crest. No other club has additional words on their logos, just names and maybe the odd est. year.

I did too but on thinking about it the Latin is very yesteryear and colonial. 'Strength Through Loyalty' doesn't need to be in Latin in 2024.

Wasn't a club initiative, these types of decisions are made and funded by head office.

Find a copy of our constitution, or any clubs constitution for that matter, very secretive documents since the AFL took over. But back on why do things like change logos....its.a corporate thing, clubs just do what they're told. Drives Grant Thomas mad.
