Collingwood don't have any marking forwards. They would take anyone. Where is Jack Anthony?

Re: Tm Membrey
My question is are Collingwood just desperate for key forwards (hence the two year deal) and rolling the dice, or can Members realistically squeeze out another two years and we just decided he’s surplus to requirements?
He was definitely a heart and soul player and as much as it pains me that he goes to Collingwood, I can’t wish him ill. Always did right by the club.

How about you say what you have been told happened or just stop posting about it? For now, I'm assuming that whatever it is you think you know, it's total crap.

It's a good question.SydneySainter wrote: ↑Mon 28 Oct 2024 5:40pm My question is are Collingwood just desperate for key forwards (hence the two year deal) and rolling the dice, or can Members realistically squeeze out another two years and we just decided he’s surplus to requirements?

I think Collingwood's premiership window is closing fast. They are going for one last roll of the dice before they have a series of retirements then need to drop down to rebuild.
This is their chance to either:
a) Put themselves in a position to win another flag
b) Drop down early and focus on development
Both of those things needs a good senior core of players to support.
I'll talk about North and Carlton and Melbourne until I'm blue in the face, that you need a solid core of experienced leaders in the playing group or the young talent just doesn't build across the whole group. Yes you'll have a few stars but the back end doesn't follow.

Official now. Pies have listed Skunk with a 2 year deal. People talk about the WCE game but geez he was fierce in the win over the Swans this year.

I love/loved Tim but with the nickname 'skunk" it is entirely appropriate for him to play in the filth colours of black and white.Charlie Parker wrote: ↑Fri 01 Nov 2024 10:32am Official now. Re: Tm Membrey
Weird nickname. Perhaps Traralgon folks didn't know about skunks; then again he was apparently mentored by Adam Goodes which didn't seem to work out, perhaps it's origins are a mis-translation thing from the indigenous word for young shy tattooed lad from Victoria.

Re: Tm Membrey
I would have preferred to keep him on a one year but I don't blame the club for not offering two nor Tim for taking Collingwood's offer. Realistically he looked cooked until the final weeks of the season where he turned it on for a short burst when his career was on the line. I would have hoped that he was displaced from the starting lineup by Sharman and Owens next year anyway. Thanks for the service Skunk.
