Watch music videos allow video games watch basically any movie.
They pay for the privilege or chose the channel - the bar staff did not elect to indulge in what went on.

Remember - we are governed by what is found offensive - not the intent

What comes out of my mouth may not necessarily be what goes in your ears.
In many work places people are forced to celebrate and recognise days recognising many topics that many find offensive.

But guess what no one cares as it doesn’t suit the narrative.

Gonna have to start calling you guys Henny Penny. The comedy sky isn't falling. You have both listed a bunch of reasons why it is fine but you are still panicking. When was the last time any of you actually went out and watched live comedy?

Only the UK tax office has tried to cancel Jimmy Carr.

Check out the actual politics of Bill Burr and Seth MacFarlane, they are both massive lefties.

Only Chapelle is coping flack, basically because he stopped doing actual jokes and started just saying stuff to be offensive.

All of them know how to do offensive comedy well so no-one has an issue. They aren't going on stage dressed as a convicted rapist and acting out assault on a blow up doll.

Go and watch Luke Heggie or Daniel Sloss. Go and watch actual comedians. Don't just pick talking points you heard on Facebook or sky news.

Dark humour is hilarious

Maybe theirs was in bad taste, don’t know I wasn’t there

But it’d have to be pretty bad for me to be offended

Yeah you are right, there is no difference between doing something poorly and doing something well.

And that's why all those guys are cancelled and don't have audiences and don't work in the entertainment industry anymore.

Hilarious that this is the exact point you are still missing (especially given it has been said multiple times in this thread). The topics aren't the issue because you can make jokes around every topic (despite what you think). The difference is doing it clumsily can cause harm and doing it well is funny.

Il bet you hate trigger warnings too, but that is the whole point of them.

You said people find them offensive. You must hate people choosing to be offended by rainbows. Or did you just make it up? Want to give us a real example of people being offended by a day?

What a ridiculous thing to say, so it’s open slather on people doing their job in the service industry, you can do/say whatever you like in front of them and they just have to cop it? And they weren’t the judges, the AFL was.

The context is everything, this is a work event, not people going to see a comedy show.

Except they aren't offended by the day, they are offended by the date given it marks the start of the losing their land and massive deaths of them as a people. Hence the campaign being 'Change the Date' not axe Australia Day completely.

Yep, and doesn’t change the fact it’s a work event.

If you and your team at work decide to go out to dinner for a Christmas party, that is a work event.

If you go out for after work drinks with 8 people from your office, that’s a work event.

You’ve been out of the loop for too long Curly.

Can’t do rape skits at a work event, pretty simple.

No make judgement on what was happening

Unless they were forced to participate in the frivolities
What a ridiculous thing to say, so it’s open slather on people doing their job in the service industry, you can do/say whatever you like in front of them and they just have to cop it? And they weren’t the judges, the AFL was.

The context is everything, this is a work event, not people going to see a comedy show.
Wasn’t a work event.
1000% a work event. Not even debatable.
Footy trips Mad Monday etc are player organised events.

No, no it’s not.
As I said, not even debatable. Talk to a workplace lawyer. I have to do this training regularly, it’s black and white, 100% a work event, whether you like it or not.
A Christmas party organised for staff yes.

A group of staff going out on their own accord is not.

Was it compulsory to attend?

Was it outside their work hours?

Was it organised by the bosses?

Or was it just an end of year piss up which players chose to go to???

Best and Fairest is a work function

A piss up at a bar, organised by a player or two is just that, a night out.

Coaches and staff were in attendance and left before the skits started though.

Did they have a room to themselves or was it just in the public area of a bar?

I love how the denial has shifted. 'They didn't do anything wrong' to 'the real thing wrong is the staff member/s who took offence' to 'they should be allowed to do it and staff should put up with it' now to 'it wasn't even a work function'
