Re: Tm Membrey
Tim has been a fantastic clubman and I believe exceeded all of our expectations when he came to us from Sydney for a packet of chips. His vertical leap and excellent kicking will always be his trademark and I wish him all the best if he does decide to leave the club

Re: Tm Membrey
I thought this thread would be about his double footed jump. But it’s just someone who can’t spell Tim.

Re: Tm Membrey
Filth bound or so it seems. Maybe that means we keep Hayes. Paton looks like he is headed to GWS. Don't know about Olli.

Re: Tm Membrey
Seems a bit odd letting Membrey, Hayes and Campbell all go with at this point not much to replace them

Re: Tm Membrey
I actually think it’s mutually beneficial
It allows Cooper to cement that spot as a 3rd
He’s two inches taller than Tim and probably more agile and more running power too
A four of
King (202) - number 1
xxxx - number 2
Sharman (193) - number 3
Owens (190) - number 4
Smalls
Higgins, butler, Henry

It's maybe more simple than that?B.M wrote: ↑Sun 20 Oct 2024 6:22pm I actually think it’s mutually beneficial

Tim has lost significant pace over the past year and is not always clean below his knees any more.
With Daicos kicking to him neither will matter so much.
We don't have a Daicos but we do have better forwards than Pies.
So fair play all around.

Re: Tm Membrey
I have to agree to a certain extent with BM (Yes, you read that right). I believe this is a sign that RTB is really ripping the bandaid off. He's doing it to further explore the options he has and to make further investment into the many promising players on the list, with several more coming in after the draft.
If we hung on to Campbell, Members and Hayes as well, we'd probably be a chance to finish 7-12 again. Again!
A probable 11-13 wins for the year. Enough to prevent a mass desertion/riot amongst fans, but stalling our medium to long term future. Comfortably numb.
Delisting the likes of Ross, Members, Campbell and Hayes allows us not only extra places on the list, buy more development time into the likes of Garcia, Windy, Mitch, Nas, Pou, Wilson, Heath, Keeler, Collard and the Shoe.
The year of exploration is over. RTB, SOS and the dymple have their answers. We are now moving into the year of accelerated development.
We might even scrape into the 8, al a 2023. The difference between then and now is we were making up the numbers and still experimenting. If we make it again, we'll be threat. As for 2026, we'll genuinely challenge for top 4.

Before anyone goes off at Rossco...
there's so many seats at the table.
SoS, the other coaches, Dalrymple, etc all offering their advice.
I wonder what misery guts Thommo will say on Twitter, he'll be rapt.
He wants us to trade Sincs and Steele 'while they have currency'

Re: Tm Membrey
If we had no intention of keeping him he would have been delisted already, we were never going to get anything in a trade because as a delisted FA he could walk to whatever club just by not re-signing with us.
I believe the plan had been to offer all the out of contact guys a minimum contact basically as depth and if they can find a better deal elsewhere good luck to them.

Re: Tm Membrey
Best of uck to Tim, one of my family favourites.
So many times he has taken that contested mark against bigger opponents.
He could well have a great year for the Pies. I wouldn't begrudge him a flag if it came to it. (As long as it wasn't vs Us)

Re: Tm Membrey
It's dissappinting to see them go but we have to move forward and hopefully the young guns will lift quickly to fill the gaps and take us to the next level.
