Curly just lying through his teeth again trying to big-up himself.
Any chance of evidence? lol
We should trust the word of the guy who legitimately thinks the AFL checks the schedule to see when teams play St Kilda before handing out MRP suspensions, and that the AFL rigged the Grand Final half time sprint against St Kilda...

Yes ok he played games but if it wasn't such a bad look he would have been gone. Also if he didn't have a contract he was gone.amusingname wrote: ↑Fri 18 Oct 2024 10:21am“Will never play for the club again” - plays 19 games the next seasonCURLY wrote: ↑Fri 18 Oct 2024 10:16amUnfortunatley in this case Im right.amusingname wrote: ↑Fri 18 Oct 2024 10:11amUnbelievable, never wrong.CURLY wrote: ↑Fri 18 Oct 2024 9:59amAs I said it would have been a PR disaster getting rid of him.amusingname wrote: ↑Fri 18 Oct 2024 9:48amHow did he get an extra year? He probably was planning all along to not take (or get offered) a contract as he wants to assist the afl agenda against the club!
Maybe your mail last year was wrong?
Couldn’t possibly be that maybe Ross and the club have decided that a 30 year old forward (31 in may) with a history of knee injuries was a risk and they want to start fresh with a different option. It must be that your theory from a year ago that was already proven wrong was actually right all along.
“Got an extra year out of St Kilda” - was under contract for 2024 so getting paid no matter what.
Yep, so right.

Re: Tm Membrey
I thought Membrey went pretty well this season and - assuming that the stuff in the media this morning is correct - there has to be a reasonable chance that he could figure prominently in a Collingwood finals campaign next year. Conceivably even a premiership.
We have to assume that the people running our club ATM have no regrets about such a scenario, because they have a better plan going forward that presumably features Sharman and Caminiti.
Anyway, it's starting to look pretty clear that we don't think our premiership window is going to open for another couple of seasons at least. That's pretty difficult for older guys like me to face, but it is what it is.

All the evidence points to you being FOS, and you refuse to produce anything to counter that.
So I don't think any 'twisting' is necessary to see what's going on

Re: Tm Membrey
I haven't seen the stats in games they played together in recent years, but it could be the case that Max King and Tim Membrey as the key forwards combination lacked synergy.
If so, the club obviously believes he is no more than a depth player henceforth, and don't mind if he goes and plays elsewhere.
Cooper Sharman and Anthony Caminiti both offer much greater potential in forward roles beside Max King next year and beyond.

Re: Tm Membrey
The question is would Membrey be in a full strength side in 2025?
Noting the presence of Sharman and Owen as non KPP players featuring in support of King and Caminiti
Membrey has been a good servant of the Club over many years but there is now pressure on him from younger players who are the future
If Membrey has not been told that by the hierarchy then from observing he would know this is the case
So he may go somewhere where he would be guaranteed a game - hence Collingwood
Or remain a depth player at St Kilda

Re: Tm Membrey
There are now only 6 players left on our list from the Richo era, which ended 5 years ago.
Steele, Clark, King (who was getting over an ACL in his first season), Marshall, Sinclair and Wilkie (his first season).
That is quite a turnover of talent or lack thereof.

I’m sorry if it’s the last we’ll see of Membrey. He’s been a good player for a number of years and it seems a good clubman. I thought his comeback from serious illness and other setbacks last season was inspirational. Best of luck to Tim for the future - except when he’s playing against us.

Re: Tm Membrey
Having both of them exposes us in a forward defense perspective.
Lose a bit of leg speed and ball movement speed with Membrey too.
I don't know if it's synergy but it doesn't fit what we are trying to do with and without the ball.

Re: Tm Membrey
Don't like it - he kicked five goals in a game this year.
Tim is a very handy player and will be next year.
We look better up forward when he is marking the ball 60 metres out and delivering the ball inside the forward 50.
Watch some of his passes against Geelong or his five goal effort against the Eagles.
