Membery or Hayes or both gone ?
Personally I would keep Hayes, despite recent injury issues. He's younger and much more versatile. Get his body right and he's a great back up option.

Re: Membery or Hayes or both gone ?
I would like to keep both but we can't fit them in my preference would be for Membery as he is a proven goal kicker and would really help the young guys. Up the offer of a 1 year to a 2 year deal he is there as back up and always draws a major defender.

Jeezes -- I really love Tim Membrey and I want him to stay a Saint for life!!
Pleese Saints offer him a better deal and stop this crazy option from materialising.

We won't get anything but list spots and cap space to let them go. I don't think we have much pressure on either at the moment.

Appears not. And Ben Paton still a Saint. Would have felt uncomfortable seeing any of those in oppo jumpers.

I don't know how many list spots we have open, but I would imagine at least a few of the unsigned guys get another one year contract given we didn't replace them

Pretty sure I read (can’t recall where) we offered Tim a one year deal but told him we were happy if he tested the market.
Perhaps someone can validate that?

Re: Membery or Hayes or both gone ?
As far as I can make out
Tim Membrey
Jack Hayes
Ben Paton
Olli Hotton
do not have contracts
Brad Crouch is contracted but may not play on
At present 6 list vacancies has been reduced to 5 due to the arrival of McCrae
The club has 4 genuine picks available for use in the national draft, presently 7, 8 32, 47 but those positions will change on the night.

Re: Membery or Hayes or both gone ?
So we could do nothing, take 4 picks in the draft and one in the rookie draft (Sandy player?)
Anyone else we delist opens up a spot for pick 45, academy selections, or preseason draft picks.
One way this could look is - Trade Paton, Hotton and Hayes for Cole, Peckett, and O'leary.
Based on that I expect 2 of the 4 uncontracted players will be delisted.

Re: Membery or Hayes or both gone ?
Would like to see Membrey go around for another season, and although I like Patto, I don't think he has fully captured his form of pre leg break, though could be a useful player. Hayes as a mature recruit has played a handful of senior AFL games in his career, and may be prone to further leg injuries, and definitely looked slower this season. Hotton, not sure, and Crouch's type of injury means he may not see a full season out. So to me it would look like Membrey and Paton would be worth keeping.

Re: Membery or Hayes or both gone ?
I wonder if Collingwood will take both Hayes and Membrey, as they've now de-listed 2 tallish players, Freddie Kreuger, and Josh Eyre.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Membrey's current contract with St Kilda remains in limbo, with no renewal offer on the table, prompting him to explore potential landing spots as the AFL's delisted free agency period looms next month.

My Filth mate says Timmy is joining them. Not sure how that works, free agent?
