St Kilda is targeting Carlton defender Brodie Kemp, reports Seven’s Mitch Cleary.
Kemp, 23, was drafted at pick No. 17 in the 2019 Draft by then Carlton list manager Stephen Silvagni, who now holds that role at St Kilda.
While Kemp is contracted until the end of next season, Cleary says they’re chasing Kemp as a third-tall defender to replace Josh Battle who they lost as an unrestricted free agent to Hawthorn.

I don't mind Kemp. He's young and I think with the right coaching and guidance, he has upside

In other words he was bog average
I think if Kemp comes to us for nothing... then we have nothing to lose. Incidentally... here's a comparison of Kemp v Battle at same age

Battle was a lot better overhead and a better kick than Kemp

I think it's their size. Not quite tall enough to be a KPP. Battle took a while to settle in to a position as well. I think Kemp has potential to improve as a player
Interesting to compare the two players for 2023. Josh turned 25 last year while Kemp was only 22. Josh's numbers are very underwhelming. I think our list management are pissing themselves laughing that we got pick 8 as compensation
