Saints, Lions change picks that could unlock Macrae deal - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1245106
ST KILDA and Brisbane have initiated a pick swap that could unlock a move for Jack Macrae to get to the Saints.
The Saints have landed picks 32 and 45 from the Lions in exchange for their second-round pick (No.27).
Pick 32 could be used in a potential trade for Macrae, who is contracted for three more years at the Western Bulldogs, but requested a move to St Kilda last month.

I’m very happy with our player management and have far more confidence than when Trout and Pelchen were running things. A couple more gun kids is worth everything. A valuable foot soldier in Macrae will also help. Just need a back up for Romo

Farken Trout couldn't catch a cold. Useless can't.

Or try and swap our future first 2025 for gold coasts 13 with some change. Surely load up on this draft. It’s a super draft.
Carlton have now pick 3

I hope we're trying to get hold a one or two of the Tigers late first rounders for a F1.
F1 for 18 & 23?

Re: What exactly are we doing
Generally speaking, what are we specifically doing to address our playing list weaknesses, and are we going after the right type of players?

Re: What exactly are we doing
You said their list manager has “remained focused” despite making a series of decisions that has set the club up for 10 years of bottom four finishes. There hasn’t been a club in a worse list position since west coast 2019.Scollop wrote: ↑Mon 14 Oct 2024 11:02pmWtf are you reading? Look at the highlighted bits. I never said 'they are doing well'Brunswicksainter wrote: ↑Mon 14 Oct 2024 10:39pmInteresting hearing people’s opinions, I think Melbourne are on track for the worst off season in recent AFL history. They’ve retained two players who are extreme damaged goods both entering their thirties and don’t want to be a club, they traded away their pick next year (which will almost certainly be in the top 4-5) for pick nine, they’ve lost Neal bullen who is a more than handy player for nothing. They have no key forwards, a terribly aged defence, close to the worse crop of players under 22 of any side and you think they are doing well?Scollop wrote: ↑Mon 14 Oct 2024 8:47pm Have a look at Melbourne FC.
They've got major problems but their recruiting team and list manager remain focused.
Melbourne are getting pick 9 from Essendon as well as having pick 5 for the upcoming National Draft..that's after getting Windsor and Tholstrup last year.
That means they're in a very strong position again if they can sort out their off field s***
As long St Kilda is focused on the National Draft and picking the right players, that is what will drive the future success of the football club
This is a Saints thread. I wasn't going to list all their issues (including Oliver's off field behaviour which started the rot last year, Brayshaw retiring, Petracca wanting out, President resigning, Kosi wanting out and don't forget their former President claiming years ago that Goodwin has bad habits which could be affecting club culture) because they're all well known.
I meant ...despite their major problems they have a track record of good trading and very good recruiting.
That's what I'd like our team to do rather than getting distracted by senior players that might be available. Focus on picking the best young talent and recruit quality.
