I just read that he was actually sacked. He then didn't turn up last Monday which was to be his final show.

Clearly unprofessional. Turned up late for one show. Missed numerous others through illness (overeating, I'd suggest). Prior to Elimination Finals week he claimed that it was one of the great weekends of the year. The first, he said, was Derby Day weekend and the lead-up to the Cup. The second was Christmas week and the Boxing Day test. Whateley was just looking at him, no doubt thinking exactly what I was; "What the f*** are you doing hosting a footy show if you don't rate a footy week as the best of the year?"
