Battle told not to attend B and F
Apparently Battle was asked not to attend the Best and Fairest.

Re: Battle told not to attend B and F
Maybe he could have waited until after to announce he was leaving?

Re: Battle told not to attend B and F
A bit disappointing. I don't know how often it happens for others but the point of the night is to celebrate the season which he was a big part of.
Free agency is part of football and getting sooky because someone chose to make use of it shows we aren't as mature a club as we might like.

Sounds like he has screwed the club over a bit, hence the attitude.
There is probably background we are not across.

Re: Battle told not to attend B and F
Petty, pathetic & unprofessional by the club.
The guys has chosen to change employer, after years of solid service and this is how we respond.
Disappointed
Grow up saints.
Given the President made a living providing an employment platform, I find it a tad ironic.

How ethical.
The club finally grows some balls and people aren’t happy.
Can’t please everyone.

Re: Battle told not to attend B and F
He lied to his teammates and coach, saying he would remain a Saint only a day before telling the world he would be leaving us for less money to go to the Dingley Tip.
F*** BATTLE!! And why is this even news?
If we get less than a band 1 compo for that turncoat, I’ll snip him myself

No, he changed employers as he most likely believes there will be benefit to him and his family.CURLY wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 5:52pmWhy?D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 5:44pmWidely reported in the mainstream press.

This is not 5th class back sticks country footy Curly, this is the player’s livelihood.
Perhaps try viewing the matter like an adult human being, and not an emotional child.
As for teams Curly, I have been involved in sport for many years at many levels (including board level of an international sport) but I’ve never played country butt f*** footy, so I’m guessing the answer is no

If he had told the players and coach he was staying only to then announce he’s out that in any language is a dogs act. He has also left for less money apparently so this is to just chase glory.
Glad to see you’d have your team mates back. Country butt footy or your game what ever you chose to play.

Saints took Ross back, and will welcome Battle back at some stage in the future with an apology.CURLY wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 6:59pmD.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 6:32pmWhy, because I have an opinion that differs from yours?CURLY wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 6:05pmYou’ve obviously never been part of a team.D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 5:57pmNo, he changed employers as he most likely believes there will be benefit to him and his family.CURLY wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 5:52pmWhy?D.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 5:44pmWidely reported in the mainstream press.

Time for the club to grow up and act like a professional organization.
Snubbing a player because he chose to leave is petty.

Re: Battle told not to attend B and F
No idea where it originated, however given the club did not acknowledge him suggests the senior staff were onboard either through driving or agreeing to the call if player driven.chook23 wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 8:42pmWas it player drivenD.B.Cooper wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 5:44pmWidely reported in the mainstream press.

If player driven I’d expect senior management to override this call and explain the reality to the players, that is their role as senior staff.
Just my opinion, but I find it extremely petty.
