Re: Trevor Barker Award
I reckon ridiculous that Battle ahead of Marshall. Almost criminal. Thought NAS should’ve been too 4 as well. Tbh, I’m a little surprised that Wilk’s won it. Thought Marshall would win it from Sinclair and Wilkie 3rd, NAS 4th and maybe Josh 5th.
Owens top 10 a little surprising. Although his work in the contests where he’ll often not touch the ball but still impact is under rated.

Re: Trevor Barker Award
Well deserved for Wilkie. Can't think of a game where he was beaten, hopefully he is on the Battle money he deserves.
Battle Wilson and Owens feel lucky. Battle maybe gets a bump for the FA compo calculation, so we can say they are poaching our third best player?
Owens and Wilson had good games but didn't expect them to be consistent enough to make top 10, though now I think who might have come in front I only really have Wood and everyone else (Clark, Webster, Windhager) didn't really play enough games, even Mason only played 18.

Who said that Lyon focusses on defence? Nah....no wayMoods wrote: ↑Mon 30 Sep 2024 11:59pm I reckon ridiculous that Battle ahead of Marshall. Almost criminal. Top 3 are backline
4 of the top 5 are Backmen.
We tried hard to retain Battle. Coach must have been pumping him up weekly in team meetings and reviews.
Ridiculous that Battle was ahead of Marshall.
I knew we'd eventually agree on something Moods

Can’t find video of Lyon speech … be good if someone could summarise key messages ?

Re: Trevor Barker Award
Top 3 player in the B&F, coming into his prime, walking out the door for (probably) a draft pick in the 20s...
Oh dear.
Oh dear.

Re: Trevor Barker Award
If I was a conspiracy theorist (like one on here ) I’d suggest we doctored the result to send a timely message to the AFL that a first round (#8) compensation pick for a podium finish departing free agent is absolutely required.

Re: Trevor Barker Award
It will backfire
You don’t poke the bear, GT used to do it and it hurt us. If you think the AFL isn’t vindictive you are wrong
We will be shafted!

Bit like questioning umpires from 100m away in the grandstands when a paid professional is johnny on the spotCURLY wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 8:09amScollop wrote: ↑Tue 01 Oct 2024 1:06amWho said that Lyon focusses on defence? Re: Trevor Barker Award
Yeah but we got a couple of extra draft picks 25 years ago so we should just be happy to take it.

Re: Trevor Barker Award
Until compo came out, I would’ve kissed their arse!
And then unloaded if we didn’t get first round compensation
I really wasn’t pick 8
