Re: Grand Final 2024
I've got another prediction.
If Will Ashcroft wins the Norm Smith, CURLY won't be able to help himself with the usual boohoo bs
It's a certainty

Re: Grand Final 2024
We saw this when they beat us twice. Much better than the Swans, who need their SCG.

I would have classed the brians as maggots as well. Really dislike both teams. Actually couldn't give a rats who wins.
Really offensive to compare these two foreign teams to their Victorian roots.

Re: Grand Final 2024
We need to prove to the AFL and their main broadcaster that we can score 100 points in a Grand Final. Then we might get a leg upDave McNamara wrote: ↑Sat 28 Sep 2024 5:26pm
I really hope we play finals so we can have a go at that.
Can you imagine how pissed off channel 7 would be if this was a dour contest
Every goal means more $$ as Channel 7 gets to play more ads

Pretty crazy to think Brisbane started the year 2-7!

Re: Grand Final 2024
I'm happy for the Lions but especially for Chris Fagan. He seems a genuinely good person and had to do it the hard way, without playing in the AFL, only the Tasmanian League. He had plenty of knockers but stuck firm.
They were unlucky to lose last year and got some crap umpiring decisions against Collingwood, the AFL's lovechild.

An amazing rebuild starting at a time when they were considered irrelevant and in danger of becoming a permanent member of the bottom 4. Congratulations to them.
It also provides us with encouragement and hope. It can be done! We're already on our way there!

Teddy Bears' picnic.
But you lot already knew that.
But you lot already knew that.
Dave McNamara wrote: ↑Sat 21 Sep 2024 10:39pmIf it wasn't already planning to, Gestapo HQ will most likely now have to sweep away the complaints made by those indigenous ex-Dawks players. Move along folks. Nothing to see here.
Why?
Because recent history tells us (with about only the one exception), that when one Prelim is close, and the other a is comfortable win... the winner of the close Premlin'... wins the flag. And generally, quite comfortably too.
So, it's a Teddy Bears' picnic.
And Gestapo HQ doesn't want its reigning premiership coach with a (serious) racism asterisk hanging over his name.
Not that incoming club President Mark 'minisoldr' Robinson could give two shakes of a frog's ass about any of that.

And not wanting to make anyone vommit, but they get a further reward after winning the flag in the form of arguably the best young player in the draft, Levi Ashcroft, the brother of the Norm Smith Medalist.
Strewth! What we need is a top line geneticist to ensure those Y chromosomes are in plentiful supply in our playing group. Grab some of Rooey's as well. He seems to have the right stuff!

Re: Grand Final 2024
I heard Jonathan Brown talking about the first couple of years that Chris Fagan became coach and he wrapped his arms around the players. He created a good environment and culture.Nick DalSanto Claus wrote: ↑Sat 28 Sep 2024 6:44pm An amazing rebuild starting at a time when they were considered irrelevant and in danger of becoming a permanent member of the bottom 4.
Maybe Fagan talked about as well (I can't recall) but they mentioned that their biggest issue was good players and exceptional top 10 talent were just leaving the football club before Fagan arrived
He understands players and he's good with people management. He builds relationships with his players and the players genuinely love him

Re: Grand Final 2024
Not sure but it seems like the Swans have an issue with Grand Finals, they don't cope with the big occasion.
They love playing injured players, and, their Key Forward GOP's got found out again today.
I wonder if Stringer will be at the Swans in 2025 ?
He'll go missing as well.
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Grand Final 2024
makes me think about 2 car companies
Volvo
MG
Both are owned by huge Chinese car companies now.
The badges say one thing, but all the money and engineering are from an entirely different culture.
Old car fans won't go misty-eyed over the current MGs because they're just Geely cars with an MG badge.
And Volvo never really had that charisma but they did champion a lot of safety tech as well as win rallies and motor races back in the day
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.

Re: Grand Final 2024
Fagan is running an AFL sponsored list and it’s taken him a while
Give lyon that and see what happens…
